Kim Pimmel hat für dieses beeindruckende Video mit einem Magneten kleine Eisenpartikel aus einer Toner-Kartusche auf Wasser hin- und herbewegt. Den Sound dazu hat er auch gleich selber noch in Ableton gemacht.
Das Video ist der erste Teil der von ihm geplanten “series of choreographed time-lapse shorts that explore the beauty of the forces of nature that surround us.”
Ferrous printer toner particles floating on the surface of water are attracted by a magnet and align to the invisible magnetic field around them. The patterns and motions that result are strangely ordered and organized.
