Natürlich sind derartige Aufzählungen immer vom persönlichen Gefühl abhängig und treffen nicht jedermanns Top 20, aber wenn du deine ganz persönlichen auch noch Top 20 selber spielen kannst, kannste halt auch was. So wie Rick Beato, der sich hier zusammen mit dem Schlagzeuger Jack Jones durch seine Top 20 der Drum Intros aller Zeiten spielt. In meinen wäre definitiv der Bandits ihr „Catch Me“ mit dabei, aber ich bin halt auch kein Drummer. Und woher sollen die beiden auch schon die Bandits kennen?
Rob Scallon hat seine Gitarre durch 319 Bodentreter-Effekte geschliffen und damit wohl einen Weltrekord aufgestellt. Klanglich durchaus interessant, praktisch allerdings schlecht alleine umsetzbar, weil du jede Menge Leute brauchst, die dann die Pedalen bedienen. Alleine dürfte sich das schwierig gestallten. Machen kann man es natürlich trotzdem mal.

Vor drei Jahren hat Martin Molin von Wintergatan eine von ihm konzipierte und gebaute Murmelmaschine vorgestellt, die Musik spielt und hat damit so ziemlich alles abgerissen, was man im Netz so abreißen kann. Jetzt hat Molin eine neue Musik machende Murmelmaschine gebaut. Und die klingt fast noch besser als das drei Jahre alte Original. Beeindruckend ist die Idee und die Umsetzung allemal.

Sehr schön nerdige Form der Klangerzeugung, die Hainbach hier zum akustischen Licht führt. Er hat sich einen HP DS3 3782A Error Detector besorgt, der einst zum HP 3781A Pattern Generator gehört hat. Beides waren irgendwann mal Geräte, die im Bereich der CCITT eingesetzt wurden. Ich habe heute ewig danach gesucht, was genau das alles sein könnte. CCITT steht für „Comité Consultatif International Télégraphique et Téléphonique“ und war 2005 ein internationales Beratungsgremium für Telekommunikation. In diesem Kontext wurden Gerätschaften erfunden, die wohl auch nur für diesen Kontext zu gebrauchen waren. Der HP DS3 3782A Error Detector war eines davon. Nerdkram.

Hainbach hat aus diesem Teil jetzt Sound geholt und das Gerät „The Saddest Drone Machine“ genannt. Klang aus Geräten, die nicht dafür gebaut wurden, Klang zu erzeugen. Mag ich sehr.
Die Circuit Bending-, und somit eine aleatorische Musikkunst verstehenden Nerds bei Moon Armada bauen Synths und Controller in Puppenköpfe und ganze Puppen. Das ist ein bisschen weird, aber auch irgendwie ganz geil. Weil: macht ja sonst keiner.
Mit Dingen, aus denen Klang rauskommt, kann man musizieren. Auch mit Taschenrechnern. Und dann kann man schon mal das „Pirates of the Caribbean“ Theme spielen. Wenn man es kann.
