Jasper aka Vandera hat sich mal wieder hingesetzt und basslastige Perlen auf eine akustische Kette gefädelt. Am Ende besteht diese bei 90 Minuten aus nicht weniger als 64 Tracks. „Halfstep“ nennt er das ganze. Ich nenne es den perfekten „AfterPartynachHausekommSoundtrack.“ Ja. Alleine die Tracklist! Wie Sahnekaramell für die Ohren und auch für den Bauch, wenn man nur den Bass weit genug aufdreht, was ich hiermit tue.

Ich begleite die Arbeit von Jasper aka Vandera hier schon seit Jahren. Aufgefallen ist er mir auch dadurch, dass viele seiner Mixe nach einem Konzept zu entstehen scheinen. Den ersten, den ich damals von ihm hörte, war einer, in dem er in 60 Minuten ganz bewusst 60 Tracks aneinandergereiht hatte. Und zwar so, dass es selbst für ein geschultes Ohr schwierig war, überhaupt nachzuvollziehen, wann welcher Mix stattfand. Technisch nahezu perfekt.

Daran hat sich bis heute nichts geändert. Außer vielleicht, dass er mittlerweile auf LTJ Bukems Label „Good Looking Records“ gelandet ist. Und genau dort gehört er auch hin, wenn mich einer fragt. Sein Herz schlägt in der Mitte zwischen Dubstep und Drum & Bass. Gerne den lässigen, den jazzigen, den entspannten. Das ganze bekommt er auch durch seine Art des Mixings zusammen ohne den Hörer dabei loungig einzulullen.

Ich freue mich riesig über diesen großartigen Mix von Jasper, in dem er nicht weniger als 45 deepe Dubsteptunes verbrät und der wie oben schon erwähnt, auch einem Konzept folgt. Es sein mittlerweile 11. Mix, der auf E Moll basiert. Offenbar mag der Mann E Moll ziemlich gerne. Klingt aber auch super.

Vandera tut es wieder und verbindet in 60 Minuten 60 Drum’n’Bass Rollen zu einem Mix, der keine Übergange verrät und so wirkt, als wäre es ein langer Track. Perfekt gemixt. Klasse. „One month of hard labour and this is the result: 60 tracks mixed in 60 minutes, all key-matched.

50 smoothe D’n’B Killer in 75 Minuten: Vandera – Opus 3 in B♭ minor

Geht das? Kann man das machen? Und darf man das machen? Darf man mal eben 50 entspannte, angejazzte Drum & Bass Nummern einfach so in 75 Minuten runter reißen?

Eindeutig: Vandera darf das, zumal er das technisch so perfekt macht, dass man keinen einzigen der Übergänge wahrnimmt. Und selbst wenn man die Nummern kennt, ist es nicht leicht zu hören, wann er dort zu welcher switcht. Es ist das, was man ohne weiteres einen absolut fehlerfreien, perfekten Mix nennen darf.

Jasper alias Vandera kommt ursprünglich vom D’n’B, machte später dann derartig grandiose Mixe eher mit Dubstep-Tunes und kehrt nun für das KMag zum Drum & Bass zurück und das mit voller Kante. Fantastisches Ding!

Eigentlich mag ich hier nicht so gerne Mixe haben, die unter 50 Minuten sind. Da bist du nämlich noch nicht mal richtig drin, ist schon wieder alles vorbei. Aber die Mixe, die Vandera macht sind technisch einfach zu gut, um sie zu ignorieren. Ich hatte hier schon längere Mixe von ihm, die nach selben Konzept gemacht sind. So lang wie der Mix, soviele Tracks packt er da auch ein. Stilistisch immer auf der deepen Dubstep-Welle lang. Schönes Ding, das länger allerdings noch viel besser wäre.

Vandera, der für mich schon hiermit definitiv den Mix des Jahres 2011 abgeliefert hatte, hat nun einen Mix für FatKidOnFire gemacht, der nicht weniger gut ist, auch wenn der Sound jetzt nicht durchweg so meins ist – technisch ist das wieder ganz große Kunst. 45 Tracks in 60 Minuten voller Dubstep, Breaks, Bass, Techno, House, Garage und Prodigy und Daft Punk. Für mich jetzt schon der Mix des Jahres. 60 verdammt deepe und zurückgelehnte 2 Step-Tracks mixt Vandera hier für The Daily Street in 60 Minuten. Nennt es von mir aus Mash Up oder wie auch immer ihr wollt, Musik so ineinander zu braten ist eine ganz eigene Kunst. Eine, die Vandera zweifelsohne über alle Maßen beherrscht.

The Daily Street werfen mit ihrem 13 Podcast eine richtige Granate Richtung Dancefloor. Vandera, den einige womöglich von Echodub kennen dürften, mixt mal so als wäre nichts gewesen 60(!) deepe Dubstep Nummern in 60 Minuten. Meistens sind mir derartige Mixe zu hektisch und purzeln dabei aus jeglich erkennbarem Kontext, aber das, was hier bisher gehört habe ist ganz großes Kino! Wenn auch mit poppigen Ausflügen, ein klasse Mix mit klasse Tracklisting, der technisch definitiv über jeden Zweifel erhaben ist.
