Jetzt, wo Wruhme aktuell sein neues Album promotet, fliegen einem die Mixe von ihm nur so um die Ohren, was grundsätzlich mehr als zu begrüßen ist. So wie auch dieser Mix, der jetzt auf Electronic Beats kam, wo es auch noch ein Interview mit ihm gibt. Rico war so gut und hat das Ding auf seine Cloud geladen.

Anders als die letzten, eher abgehdrehten Mixe von ihm geht es hier ganz klar Richtung Tanzfläche. Mit jeder Menge Seele, der Sehnsucht nach Sonne, wackelndem Arsch und toller Playlist.

Doku: The James Dean Story

Irgend ein jemand war so freundlich und hat die komplette Doku „The James Dean Story“ auf die Tube geladen. Veröffentlicht wurde diese im Jahr 1957.

Shortly after James Dean died in a car crash, Robert Altman and George W. George (son of Rube Goldberg) set out to document the young star’s brief life. The results are mixed. The narration (written by Stewart Stern, who wrote Rebel Without a Cause and befriended Dean) tries to get beyond the public image of Dean as the cool rebel to show the lonely young man underneath. It’s a bit overwrought, but that’s understandable, given the strong emotions Dean elicited from those who knew and loved him. But Martin Gabel is all wrong as narrator; his stentorian delivery turns the hot-blooded musings of youth into ponderous, pompous pronouncements totally lacking in humor. The most interesting element is the people of Fairmont, Indiana, where Dean grew up–straightforward, direct, and proud of Dean not for the fame he attracted but for who he was.

Psytrance: Mat Mushrooms Sunrise Mix at „Hai in den Mai“ 2011

Einige dürften das ja schon mitbekommen haben: „manchmal muss es eben mehr sein“. So wie jetzt.

Mat Mushroom, Macher des Psytrance Magazines Mushroom, hat am Wochenende dieses fantastische dreistündige Set auf dem Tanz in den Mai Open Air im Stemwedener Waldfrieden gespielt und dankbarerweise vorher den Record-Knopf gedrückt. Und obwohl ich in diesem Jahr kein einziges Psy-Festival in der Planung habe, macht das schon Bock auf Sonne, Staub, dicke Anlagen, grinsende Massen und die Tracks jenseits der 130 BPM.

Was der Militarismus für merkwürdige Blüten schon vor 60 Jahren zu treiben wusste, zeigt diese kuriose Idee des Kugelpanzers aus dem Jahre 1936.

ROLLING over the ground like a giant ball, a high-speed “tumbleweed tank” proposed by a Texas inventor is a new addition to modern war machines. A spherical hollow steel driving cab is inclosed by a rotating outer shell consisting of two cup-shaped halves fitted with circular traction cleats. Motor-driven gears, mounted on the inner sphere, rotate the outer shells to roll the tank along the ground. Steering is effected by varying the speed of either of the rotating traction shells. Machine guns are fired from the stationary cab through central firing slots and armored turrets at the sides. The heavy driving motor, centrally placed on the cab floor, gives the tank stability and prevents it from rolling sidewise. The inner shell can be sealed against poison gas, while the power plant is completely inclosed to minimize the danger from exhaust fumes. The inventor states that the tank’s spherical shape presents the smallest possible target for enemy bombs or shells, and all but direct hits would glance off its curved sides. Missiles penetrating the outer shells would have expended most of their force.

Erste Arbeiten für eine Reparatur der Kühlsysteme in Reaktor 1. Greenpeace misst die Wasserqualität. Nahrungskette. Entschädigungsforderungen an Tepco könnten 2 Billionen Yen betragen. Das sind 17 Milliarden Euro. 14.700 Menschen sind durch das Erdbeben und den Tsunami gestorben. 11.000 Menschen werden vermisst. Die Identifizierung der Leichen wird immer schwieriger. Verwesungsprozess.“
