Auf dem Weg zum Schlachthof nimmt eine Kuh namens „Mücke“ Reißaus, meidet Menschen, streift wochenlang allein durch Wälder – und schließt sich schließlich einer Schafherde an. Der Schäfer ist überrascht, als er eine Kuh auf seiner Weide vorfindet.

Schnell zog Gimber einen Zaun um die Kuh – vergeblich. »Mücke« durchbrach den Zaun, legte sich mitten in die rund 200 Schafe und blieb. »Es hat die Schafe beschnuppert und fühlt sich wohl – es passt sich sogar der Herde an. Und auch die Schafe stört es nicht.«

Nur dort bleiben konnte sie nicht und ist mittlerweile beim Verein Rüsselheim untergekommen.

We were taking him out to try and encourage him to discover the world of ants and termites. He was not interested at all. He was actually quite scared of termites and ants when they crawled on him he would try and brush them off. …Eventually he got the hang of it and he started foraging himself. He was still a baby and he still needed that physical contact so we tried to encourage him to cling on to a stuffed toy in order to protect ourselves, but also to make it a bit more natural for him in his rehabilitation.

A wildlife rescuer has saved a wombat after it became stuck on a stump in the middle of Lake Mulwala.

The wombat was spotted by a family while fishing on Sunday, who alerted Dutch Thunder Wildlife Shelter to assist the animal, stranded about half a kilometre from shore. #9News pic.twitter.com/2qSKdLzDnE

This is the adorable moment a three-fingered sloth was reunited with her baby – after it was found stranded and crying on a beach.
The cub was separated from its mother who had already started to climb its way back up the tree and into the canopy on May 10.
Fortunately, staff from Jaguar Rescue Center in Puerto Viejo de Talamanca, Costa Rica spotted what had happened and scooped up the tiny creature.
It was then rushed to the vet for a check up where it was found to be in good shape – before the rescuers hatched a plan to safely reunite mum and baby.
They recorded its cry and played it out to the mother to summon her down, and once she began her descent her precious tot was carefully handed back.

So viel Respekt, dass ich diesem Jungschwan hier wohl kaum aus seiner misslichen Lage hätte befreien können. Anders als die hier gezeigte ältere Dame, die wie ganz selbstverständlich einfach das tat, was getan werden musste und den Schwan von der Admiralbrücke in den Landwehrkanal half.

2013 in Borneo:

Footage recently released by International Animal Rescue, shows harrowing footage of an orangutan trying to fight off a bulldozer destroying its habitat.

As loggers smash the base of a tree in the Ketapang District, West Borneo, heart-breaking video shows one of the great apes perched in the tree’s canopy as it falls to the floor.

In the footage – originally shot in 2013 but only released publicly now – the orangutan is clinging on as it slowly topples to the ground, the orangutan starts making its way down the trunk.

It was a bit difficult because the ice did not carry us and we could not get away from the shore. He was calm, slept on my legs. When I wanted to stretch them, he raised his head for a moment,”

Zwei Stunden lang versuchte das Team der Animal Clinic of Kalispell dann, die Katze mit warmem Wasser und Decken aufzuwärmen, aber die Körpertemperatur stieg nicht an. Später entschied man sich für eine warme Fönkur, die schließlich dafür sorgte, dass Fluffy wieder Regungen zeigte. Sie ist wohlauf und hat nun noch sechs Leben.

Am 1. Januar 2019 wurden Feuerwehrleute aus Budapest in die Stadt Pécs gerufen, um einen verängstigten Hund aus der Mitte des zugefrorenen Csunya-Sees zu retten. Dafür krochen zwei Feuerwehrleute vorsichtig aufs Eis, während sie sich an einer aufblasbaren Matte festhielten, mit der sie den offenbar frierenden Doggo vom Eis holten. Laut Angaben eines Tierarztes sei der Hund vollkommen gesund. Warum er nicht alleine vom Eis kam, ist unklar.
