As if the sunrise set slot on Friday morning wasn’t already enough of an honor, we all got blessed with the mind-blowing Drone show from Studio Drift while the sky slowly turned blue and red in the morning shimmer.

Thinking back about this surreal moment still fills us with speechlessness and goosebumps.

Some of you know I was hosting events in Leipzig and Halle over many years before I’ve moved to Berlin. I’m born and raised in that region, have family and friends there so it was a matter of heart to do a podcast for ostˈend
I would write „Happy Sunday everybody“ but it’s not a happy day… Music always helps me to express emotions so this may help you too.
Something slow and trippy from my heart to yours

I stumbled into Chris Schwarzwälder during the last summer of the Bar 25, our first set together was after my birthday party on a private after hour where we were sitting on a sofa and playing all my records on half time surrounded by our friends
Not even 3 months later we had our first official b2b in Berlin and it turned accidentally into a 13 hours set – from that moment I knew it must have been love
Ten years and countless b2b sets later while we were traveling the world together we are still here and since we are not able to celebrate this with you at our beloved KaterBlau we decided to at least record a set for you in an empty Heinz Hopper to get a little feeling for what is missing.

Aber dieser Mix hier von Mira mal wieder, der so schön passend unter #Erzählung getaggt wurde, nimmt mich dann doch mal wieder voll mit. Er hat so viele unfassbar schöne Momente, die ich gar nicht genau einzusortieren weiß, und dann kommt da diese „Loverboy“-Reminiszenz um die Ecke. Und ich lieb’s. Hart.

To realize slowly what this means finally released all emotions and I cried badly after…
BUT to see how many of you were watching us live and supporting us, from cats to kids, from North to South and East to West all over the world all together in this very moment
This left me speechless and it’s still pretty overwhelming to watch your stories and read all those lovely comments and messages!

Once again we had the pleasure to experience one of our favorite DJ’s on the playa, Mira „the queen of Berlin“.

Der Bar 25 Nachfolger „Kater Holzig“ hat zum Jahreswechsel nicht nur zur „längsten Silvesterparty aller Zeiten“ geladen, sondern auch ein tagelanges Closing zelebriert. Einige der dort gespielten Sets sind auf Soundcloud gelandet. Vorneweg das mir davon liebste und deshalb auch gesondert, eingespielt von keiner geringeren als der allen uns liebsten Mira.

Die Geschichte der/des Bar 25/Katers ist damit allerdings noch nicht zu Ende geschrieben. Im Sommer geht es wohl zurück auf das alte Gelände in der Holzmarktstraße, wo unter dem Namen „Holzmarkt“ ein öffentlicher Park mit Künstler- und Gewerbedorf, Klub, Hotel, 100 Wohnungen und 24-Stunden-Kita entstehen soll.

Was habe ich mich auf diesen Mix gefreut. Mira hätte ich im letzten Jahr schon unheimlich gerne dabei gehabt, was aber nicht klappte. Dass das jetzt hier passen würde war auch etwas wackelig, aber heute Nacht kam dann ihr Mix, der ganz bewusst das 24. Türchen bekommt. Nur das Beste zum Fest.

Ich verfolge das, was Mira macht, seit gut 2,5 Jahren und bin immer wieder schwer angetan von dem, was sie als ihren Sound präsentiert. Ich kenne aktuell kaum jemand anderen, der mit soviel Seele die doch langsamen aber geraden Beat-Gerüste zur akustischen Liebe vereint.

Man kann heute natürlich auch andere Musik hören, aber das Werk wäre nicht das Werk, wenn dieser Mix heute nicht mindestens 4-5 mal durchlaufen würde. Den kann man eben nicht nur zur After hour hören, sondern auch während der Vorfreude. Und beim Kochen natürlich.

Ich wünsche euch allen da draußen eine besinnliche Weihnachtszeit. Feiert! Jeder auf seine Art. Feiert! Feiert euch, feiert das Leben, feiert eure Familien und vor allem vergesst das Lieben nicht.
