Ich habe mich neulich erst gefragt, wie lange wohl das letzte Album des gro\u00dfartigen Stumbleine<\/a> her sei. Ich sah dann nach und stellte fest: vier Jahre. Ich dachte, dass es dann ja fast mal an der Zeit f\u00fcr eine neue Platte von ihm w\u00e4re. Und just gestern kam die Ank\u00fcndigung, dass er Morgen bei Monotreme Records seines neues Album Sink Into The Ether<\/a> ver\u00f6ffentlichen wird. Wie der Stream verr\u00e4t ist er seinem einzigartigem Sound treu geblieben. Mir f\u00e4llt nichts wirklich vergleichbares ein. Irgendwo zwischen LoFi, Shoegaze und Bass landet er immer zwischen den stilistischen Zeilen. Wieder ein ganz wunderbares Album, das auf 500 Vinyl limitiert ist. <\/p>\n

The album envelops the listener from the outset with the soft, pitched sway of \u201cSonder\u201d. The track ebbs through calming shadows, showcasing Stumbleine\u2019s warm, electronic glow and gamut of influences, with hushed hypnotic delayed sounds, vocal samples and snappy beats.<\/p>\n

Stumbleine\u2019s skill at blending an array of electronic timbres washes over the largely instrumental record, exemplified in \u201cSupermodels\u201d, with its lo-fi chorus-drenched haze building to an emotional, percussion-driven climax. Here, and scattered about the album, RnB vocals are chopped-up, but glistening a dark, dreamy hue.<\/p>\n

A cover of the Hole song, \u201cMalibu\u201d features Elizabeth Heaton of Midas Fall. Her delicate, dream-like vocals waft over the hazy instrumental waves like tendrils of smoke, as they both grow ever more desperate, and slowly crash.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere on the album tracks like \u2018Lost To The World\u2019 come together more immediately with flourishing synths and soaring backdrops overlaid by a heady bass and intricate beats, while \u2018White Noise Therapy\u2019 invokes a cinematic Tokyo-set film score peppered with playful soft pianos.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
