Die laden &#8211; wahrscheinlich im Zuge der neuen SC-Pro-Accounts &#8211; aktuell viele ihrer alten Mixe auf die Klangwolke, heute <a href=\"http:\/\/www.self-titledmag.com\/2010\/03\/28\/needle-exchange-011-an-exclusive-mix-by-nils-frahm\/\">kam dieser hier<\/a> von eben Nils Frahm. Schlichtweg wundervoll. Und in der Tracklist hat er zu jedem St\u00fcck auch gleich noch ein paar pers\u00f6nliche Anmerkungen. <\/p>\n<p>Und wo wir gerade beim Thema sind: vor ein paar Tagen tauchte <a href=\"http:\/\/channel.louisiana.dk\/video\/nils-frahm-live-concert\">diese wundervolle 30 min\u00fctige Live-Session von Nils Frahm in Form<\/a> eines Videos auf. Diese spielte er im Februar in Kopenhagen und ich hatte sie bisher hier nur nicht drin, weil man das Video nicht ohne Auto-Play einbinden kann. Vassilis Tsabropoulos, \u201cThe Other\u201d<br \/>\n<small>A magical piano composition. I think it is a very good opener for a mellow set. Vassilis also works with the cellist Anja Lechner. I highly recommend his work.<\/small><\/p>\n<p>2. David Darlin, \u201cDawn\u201d<br \/>\n<small>I don\u2019t think anyone can resist this piece of music. I had it on my headphones whilst riding my bike through the snow and it stopped me from freezing.<\/small><\/p>\n<p>3. Fran\u00e7ois Couturier, \u201cL\u00b4Eternel Retour\u201d<br \/>\n<small>Maybe my biggest contemporary piano influence these days. This piece is pretty harmonious, but this man can teach you a lesson in atonal improvisation. It is simply mind-blowing.<\/small><\/p>\n<p>4. Alexei Lubimov, Alexander Trstiansky &#038; Kyrill Rybakov, \u201cSpiegel Im Spiegel\u201d (Arvo P\u00e4rt Cover)<br \/>\n<small>A wonderful clarinet version of P\u00e4rt\u2019s possibly most famous composition.<\/small><\/p>\n<p>5. Dictaphone, Nacht EP<br \/>\n<small>One of the reasons why I moved to Berlin. I listened to their music and couldn\u2019t believe just how good their sound is. Their founder, Oliver D\u00f6ring, is also part of Swod. if you haven\u2019t heard Swod yet, then make sure you don\u2019t miss out!<\/small><\/p>\n<p>6. Colleen,\u201dBabies\u201d<br \/>\n<small>One of my favorite Leaf releases.<\/small><\/p>\n<p>7. Archivist, \u201cYou Are Made of Stardust\u201d<br \/>\n<small>Archivist\u2014better known as the Remote Viewer\u2014was a member of Hood before he focused more on his haunting organic electronica. He\u2019s also released music on the wonderful label City Centre Offices.<\/small><\/p>\n<p>8. Erik Levander \u201cM\u00e5nen Viskar\u201d<br \/>\n<small>He is a wonderful clarinet player and composer. Solid gold.<\/small><\/p>\n<p>9. World Standard &#038; Wechsel Garland, \u201cDonde Lion Wine\u201d<br \/>\n<small>Isn\u2019t it nice how this piece picks up the compilation? That\u2019s also the reason why I put it in there.<\/small><\/p>\n<p>10. Nick Drake, \u201cRiver Man\u201d<br \/>\n<small>Hmmmmmmm\u2026let the song speak for itself.<\/small><\/p>\n<p>11. Serge Gainsbourg, \u201cBallade de Melody Nelson\u201d<br \/>\n<small>Aha, now I know where Beck gets his inspiration from. From a huge album (Histoire de Melody Nelson). I never get tired of it.<\/small><\/p>\n<p>12. John Lurie, \u201cBella By Barlight\u201d<br \/>\n<small>Stranger Than Paradise is a great movie, and I think the music plays the main role. The perfect soundtrack for a rainy night in your car.<\/small><\/p>\n<p>13. Bill Evans \u201cBella By Barlight\u201d<br \/>\n<small>A wonderful man who is probably one of the most respected piano players in the world. When I listen to it, it makes me want to stop playing.<\/small><\/p>\n<p>14. Valentin Silvestrov, \u201cBagatellen 2\u2033<br \/>\n<small>This Ukrainian composer released a solo piano album on ECM which changed my playing quite a bit. If I\u2019m allowed to say that, this is the best sounding piano record I have ever heard.
