Mit kaum einem anderen verbinde ich soviel Liebe zum ambienten Dubtechno wie mit dem Isl\u00e4nder A\u00f0alsteinn Gu\u00f0mundsson, aka Yagya<\/a>. Sein 2002er Deb\u00fcbt-Album „Rhythm Of Snow“ war einst das erste Album, welches ich mir eigens digitalisiert hatte und bis heute auf meinem Player immer noch t\u00e4glich mit mir rumtrage. Oft h\u00f6re ich es noch. Die drei nachfolgenden Alben sind nicht minderer Qualit\u00e4t und durch die Reihe weg ein „Must have“.<\/p>\n

Im Juni nun erscheint sein f\u00fcnftes Album auf Delsin und tr\u00e4gt den Namen „Sleepygirls“. Eine wunderbare Partnerschaft, wie ich finde. Delsin hat gestern diesen Stream mit Snippets der Platte in die Cloud geladen und ich hatte die M\u00f6glichkeit das Album als ganzes schon mal vorab h\u00f6ren zu k\u00f6nnen. Es ist wieder mal ein Meisterwerk, das ganz viel Liebe in mir wachsen l\u00e4sst. Eine dieser wenigen Alben, die ich mir dann doch auf Vinyl zulegen werde. Warum auch immer.<\/p>\n

In June 2014, Icelandic producer Yagya will release his fifth album, Sleepygirls, across three slabs of vinyl and one mixed CD on Dutch label Delsin. It’s a deep, spacious and dubbed out affair that stays locked at a pleasingly sedentary tempo throughout.<\/p>\n

Since 2002 the definitive member of the Thule Musik collective has been crafting lush electronic albums under his Yagya alias and always manages to find pure bliss and beauty and his simple, nature inspired soundscapes. He deals exclusively in full lengths and to date they have come on labels like Sending Orbs, Force Inc. and Subwax Bcn.<\/p>\n

„I wanted to create an album that’s atmospheric, repetitive, and easy to listen to over and over again,“ says the man himself. „Something that works well in the background (e.g. when concentrating on work), as well as up close in a big sound system. I also wanted to learn how to make my music sound better than before, since I’m a huge sound-nerd, so that was a part of the goal for me personally.“<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
