Und dann war er auch schon wieder vorbei. Toll, dass so viele Menschies da draußen das Ding immer noch so sehr zu schätzen wissen. In Zahlen lässt sich das mittlerweile nicht mehr beweisen, weil wir alle unser Nutzungsverhalten im Netz geändert haben. Weil wir alle weniger Seiten anklicken. Weil es seit Jahren weniger wird. Kurzer Blick in die Statistik, wobei 2019 hier nicht mal Peak war:

Das ist einer der Gründe, warum ich in den letzten Jahren immer an dem Sinn dieses Projekts gezweifelt habe. Aber dann bekomme ich grandioses Feedback von euch. Und die fantastischen Mixe, derer, die sie dabei haben wollen. Dass ihr euch so sehr darauf freut. Nach all den Jahren immer noch. Dass viele von euch dafür was zu geben auch gerne bereit sind. Danke dafür! Und so lange in 24 Tagen über 30.000 Menschen Mixe aus diesem, euren, Kalender anhören, muss der ja zu irgendwas gut sein. Und mir reicht dabei, euch dazu eine gute Zeit haben zu lassen.

Hier in Sammlung die 24 Kalendertürchen aus dem Jahr 2025, die alle für sich in meinen Ohren jeweils eine Perle sind. Kommt gut übers restliche Jahr! Und danke! Ihr wisst, wer ihr seid – und ich weiß das sehr zu schätzen. <3

Eigentlich wollte ich den Kalender in diesem Jahr deutlich gemächlicher starten, aber der 1. Dezember ist nicht immer ein Montag, den es zu nehmen gibt und da kann man dann auch mal gerne dolle machen.

Das geile bei Gaya ist ja, dass der eine so große Musiksammlung hat, dass ich mir bei ihm jedes Jahr ein anderes Genre aussuchen kann und als er mich fragte, fiel mir auf, dass ich lange keinen Jungle mehr gehört habe. Also hat er diesen zu einem Mix für uns verwoben. Alles von Vinyl. Natürlich. Mitunter schön auf die Fresse, was zu einem Montag außerordentlich gut passt. Und very britisch. Kommt gut in die Woche. Unser Lieblingsnürnberger Oakin, den ich lange nicht persönlich getroffen habe, der hier aber dennoch natürlich nicht fehlen darf, nimmt uns mit auf eine leicht nostalgische Reise voller Soulful D&B und Jungle Tunes. Nicht nur für die Bass-Heads unter euch süße Erinnerungen.

Ich packe mir diese jetzt mal auf die Kopfhörer radel dazu auf Arbeit in deren Rahmen ich heute auf einem Weihnachtsmarkt Crepes unter die Leute bringen werde. Dennis Huddleston aka 36 hat auf seinem neuem Album „Weaponised Serenity“ seine musikalische Sozialisation durch den Hardcore/Jungle-Sounds der frühen 90er in Ambient-Klänge verpackt. Geiles Konzept, das in der Summe nicht wenig an The KLFs „Chill out“ erinnert. „Weaponised Serenity“ gibt es limitiert auf 100 Kassetten oder zum Download bei Bandcamp. Ich höre es gleich noch mal.

Ich hatte heute Urlaub, war mit dem Kind museal in der Hauptstadt unterwegs, koche jetzt für Freunde 6-Käse-Lasagne und irgendwie ist mir dabei etwas nostalgisch. So musikalisch betrachtet. Da trifft es sich hervorragend, dass irgendwer Doc Scotts Mix „Artcore 2“ auf Soundcloud geladen hat. Drum & Bass, wie dieser im Jahr 1996 State of the Art war und von UK aus endgültig den Globus infizierte. Die Tracklist ist ein Who is who der damals in UK produzierenden Artists und fasst die Mitte der dortigen 90er ziemlich gut zusammen.

Doc Scott nahm den Mix damals für REACT auf, die das Teil auf Kassetten später dann als CD unter die geneigten Hörer brachten. Und so läuft der hier jetzt in seiner bassig rollenden, organischen Schönheit. Auf ins Wochenende.

Und ich will es noch mal erwähnen: 1996! Wer diesen Mix damals schon geil fand, muss mindestens so alt sein, wie ich es bin.
