Das haut mich jetzt doch ein wenig um. Technics wird die Produktion der legendären Plattenspieler-MKII-Serien in absehbarer Zeit einstellen. Damit geht ein Ära zu Ende und es würde mich nicht wundern, wenn die der Vinyl-DJs einen weiteren Knacks bekommt.

No, Steve Aoki hasn’t hung up his record bag, but rather news has emerged that iconic turntable manufacturers Technics will be stopping production on their universally loved Technics 1200s and Technics 1210s.

In a statement re-posted on dance board Global Hardstyle, the company behind the production of the Technics turntables Panasonic announced that they would cease the manufacture of Tehcnics turntables in February next year, citing an increasing decline in sales as the motivation behind the line’s demise.

Das wird nochmal ordentlich die Preise in die Höhe treiben und ich kann nur hoffen, das meine noch weitere 15 Jahre laufen.

[Update]: So ganz klar ist das wohl dann doch noch nicht, wie ich gerade auf Twitter sehe. Solange aber keine konkrete Quelle mit konkreter Alternativ-Information auftaucht, bleibe ich hier bei.
