Ich wusste bis eben nicht, dass die Wikinger eine Technik entwickelt hatten, um aus Rinde Seile zu machen. Oder besser: ich hatte da nie drüber nachgedacht. Nach diesem Video aber weiß ich jetzt sogar, wie die aus Baumrinde Seile gemacht haben. Vielleicht braucht man das Wissen darum ja mal.

The paper thin layers of bast are glued together, and need to soak for a long time in the sea to seperate. The water in the Hardanger fjord is cold even during summer, so the bark is soaking until fall, for 3-4 months.
Ropemaker Sarah Sjøgreen lays the bast rope, and makes a traditional carrying rope with three strands, for transporting the cut grass during hay making season. The bast is naturally water proof, and rots very slowly compared to other rope materials. This explains why it has been found intact in viking excavations dating back to the 800s.“

Ich weiß nicht ob es technisch tatsächlich sinnvoll ist, seine Drohnen in Strick zu kleiden. Laut Danielle Baskin, Creative Direktorin von Drone Sweaters, ist dem wohl tatsächlich so. Aber auch wenn das nur so halb stimmen sollte, sehen Drohnen in Strick halt schon wesentlich eleganter aus als ohne. Sehr kleidsam diese Maßanfertigungen.

Redditor sicksick0331 hat ein Klavier aus dem Jahr 1907 zu einem großartig aussehenden Schreibtisch umgebaut. Geiles Teil!
Ein KommentarI found an old upright piano that someone on craigslist was giving away for free. They had said that if no one wanted it, it was going to the dump. So I picked it up and hauled it back home. All the keys were stripped of it ivory so I couldn’t salvaged any of it. I had this DIY on my to do list for awhile. I finally I was able to start it.
Ich konnte mit dem Sound von Kraftklub lange nichts anfangen. Keiner braucht neue Songs von Liam und in die Disko scheißen, ist selbst in Karl Marx Stadt nicht die feine Englische.
Irgendwann sah ich Kraftklub dann als Headliner auf dem Deichbrand Festival und war ziemlich bis sehr geflasht von dem fies mitreißenden Poprock-Geschrubbel, das die Jungs auf Punkt und verdammt professionell auf die gar nicht mehr ganz so kleinen Bühnen bringen. Fand ich an dem Abend gut, am besten von allem.
Irgendwie haben die sich Weihnachten gedacht, sie hauen mal den Berliner Gig ihrer Randale Tour auf Youtube raus – und machen das halt mal. Immer noch verdammt professionell und ebenso wohlklingend. Ich lass das mal laufen.
