Der Herbst ist da, es windet, regnet grau in grau. Es ist Feiertag, ich bleib heut zu Haus, backe Buns für die Burger zum Abend und mache Falafel für die Veggies. Da kann es passender nicht sein, dass Chillhop gerade seine Essentials für den Herbst 2018 veröffentlicht hat, denn zum in der Küche basteln ist das der Abstand passendste Soundtrack, den ich mir vorstellen kann. Dope Downbeats mit bisschen Bass, Piano und organischem Gesamtklangbild. Wie immer eine sehr geile Compilation aus dem Hause Chillhop.

Seit nun schon zwei Jahren freue ich mit jedem Jahreszeitenwechsel auf die dazugehörige, neue Dopebeat-Compilation aus dem Hause Chillhop. Heute ist es wieder mal soweit und die Holländer präsentieren ihren Frühlingssampler für das Jahr 2018. Mit dabei: wie immer exorbitant gut kuratierte Breaks, instrumentaler HipHop, Dopebeats, bisschen Jazz und Chillhop. Geiles Zeug. Auf den Frühling!

Das vielleicht Schönste am Winter: es gibt wieder eine neue Jahreszeit-Compilation aus dem Hause Chillhop. Diese feiere ich hier schon länger und aktuell schreibt man auch im Bandcamp-Blog darüber, warum die Niederländer mit ihrem Label so ziemlich alles richtig machen: Chillhop Records Could Be The Soundtrack To Your Life.

Chillhop Records might be the perfect label for those who need to get work done. Much like ambient and classical, the music on Chillhop can easily block distractions. The sound is a sample-based blend of smooth jazz and boom-bap to which people have caught on: the label’s most popular YouTube stream, “Chill Gaming/Study Beats,” has up to 6,000 people tuning in each day (the channel itself has 1.1 million subscribers). “A lot of people have just started to realize that this music is really good for studying,” says Bas van Leeuwen, founder of Chillhop Records.

Natürlich kommt auch der neuste Sampler mit feinsten, rauchgeschwängerten Dopebeats, die die kalten Wochen hoffentlich erträglicher machen. Von dem, was ich bis hier gehört habe, gehe ich davon aus, dass das so klappen wird. Soweit ein rundum gelungenes Album.

Das von mir hochgeschätzte superdufte Label Chillhop Records hat gerade seine Früjahrscompilation auf Bandcamp geschoben und die ist wie immer exorbitant dopebeatlastig, was hier ganz wunderbar in den Sonnenschein past. Und überhaupt: der Winter ist endgültig vorbei. Zu haben zum Name your Price-Download bei Bandcamp.

Für mich ist Chillhop Records die Entdeckung des Jahres. Ich mag den Sound so sehr, dass ich mir neulich den kompletten Backkatalog zugelegt habe. Kein Downbeat-Set kommt seitdem ohne Releases des Labels aus. Ich warte schon ein paar Tage auf die Winter Essentials und soeben kam die Mail von Bandcamp. Hier sind sie. 17 Dopebeat-Tracks mit jeder Menge Piano und immer einer Spur von Jazz. Geiles Zeug zum pay-what-you-want-Download.
