Making Books 1947

Back before inkjets, printing was a time-comsuming laborious process, that took teams of people working together to produce just one book. Now days, any crabby person can sit at home and crank out stuff on a blog or even make internet video. This movie will make you happy as you watch others toil for ‚The Man‘ under primitive conditions.

Auroratone films were produced by the Auroratone Foundation of America Inc. in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California. The films showed crystal-like abstract color patterns that changed and blended with each other. The patterns were produced by using crystallizing chemicals and polarized light, which were then synchronized to a variety of recorded musical tracks. The process was developed by English psychologist and scientist Cecil Stokes, who was the founder and technical director of the company.

During the 1940s and gas stations started popping up all over America due to more and more people owning cars. Americans needed somewhere to fill up all those cars right? From the big city to the rural countryside just about every American got to experience this newfound car culture and with it the rise of the service station.
