However, the film also highlights the area’s current state of commercialism and gentrification, which has dulled its once-vibrant character. Ein KommentarIn den 1950er Jahren war es offenbar möglich, Ersatz- oder Einzelteile für Puppen zu kaufen. So wie diese Augen, die es damals in doch überraschend viel verschiedenen Variationen gab.

Am Lakewood Boulevard in der US-Stadt Downey steht die älteste noch betriebene McDonald’s-Filiale der Welt und die sieht heute ein bisschen so aus, als wäre die Zeit dort irgendwann in den 1950er Jahren stehen geblieben.

Aus der Kategorie „frühes Sampling“: Jim Fassett war in den 1950er Jahren musikalischer Leiter bei CBS Radio und hat offenbar über längere Zeit hinweg Vogelstimmen aufgenommen, die er dann zu der „Symphony of the Birds“ zusammenklebte und veröffentlichte.
Jene Symphonie erschien 1960 auf Vinyl, wurde vielleicht 2006 wiederveröffentlicht und kann bis heute auf Discogs erstanden werden. Natürlich. Und ja, oben in der rechten Ecke des Covers steht „Ficker“. Aber darum geht’s ja auch gar nicht.

Einen Kommentar hinterlassenEin multifunktionales Bett aus dem Jahr 1959 mit ganz vielen Dingen, die mit einem Bett eigentlich nichts zu tun haben. Mich hätte damals wohl das Tonband überzeugt. Eine Frage bleibt aber hängen: wie sahen wohl die Frisuren der Damen nach dem Aufstehen aus?
