Ravi Shankar’s Dub In The Jungle Riddim Mix

Sommer, Sonntag, Dub Syndicate, und Lee ‚Scratch‘ Perry. Schönes Ding.

Long-form mix of all the main versions of the riddim that started in 1983 as Dub Syndicate’s „Ravi Shankar“, main theme to Steve Barker’s „On The Wire“; famously re-used as Lee ‚Scratch‘ Perry’s „Jungle“ for „Time Boom X De Devil Dead“ a few years later, through to mid-90s digidub/steppers remixes, and its frequent appearance in the 2000s on other Adrian Sherwood projects.

Toll!

Benny Ruess is a quite well-known DJ and concert/party promoter in Hamburg’s indie & alternative scene since 1996. Especially the indie party series REVOLVER CLUB, which exist since 2001, has become an institution in the city’s alternative music-scene. Over the years he has become one of the best-known music connoisseurs of the alternative music scene, especially in the field of Shoegaze, Post Punk, Britpop and Neo-Psychedelic Rock n‘ Roll.
For a long time he has also been a tour booker, promoter and business coordinator for various bands, artists and also the Hamburg BIMM College which he helped to build. Currently, as a freelancer himself, he is very hard hit by the Corona crisis and unemployed.

The Wonderful World of Baduizm

Wow.

90s HipHop LoFi remixed Mixtape

Voll mit „Loops, hits and samples“.

During the Christmas of 1965, Paul McCartney went to music publisher Dick James‘ studio to transfer a tape onto disc as a present for his fellow Beatles. With Paul playing DJ and the occasional guest spot, he’d call the album „Unforgettable“ Only four copies were ever pressed, with many – including McCartney – believing they were lost in the mists of time. This is all that survives of that original tape.

Nils Frahm Xmas Mix 2020: Schwerkraft & Leichtsinn

hohoho,

again and again and again. if you might have thought that we are running out of cheesy, crackly, and lovely down tempo tunes from the past, you have been worrying for no reason!
throughout the entire year i was collecting, hunting and mining these tunes and even when i had to crawl into the dustiest corner of the record shop for them, i will never stop chasing beacuse our new age xmas tradition can never stop. esecially not in 2020.

look at that number, so cool looking…2020!

…and wasn´t 2020 rather special? anyhow, despite all the fun fun fun we had, lets now get a drink or something stronger which helps us looking forward to whatever happens next. yikes!

a wet kiss and forbidden hug,

Mixtape: Quiet Indie Songs of 2020
