Michael Hughes war 1985 mit seiner Kamera auf einer 1. Mai Demo in Kreuzberg und hat ziemlich eindrucksvolle Bilder davon auf Flickr abgelegt. Leider nicht in einem separatem Album, weshalb man sich da ein wenig durch klicken muss. Start ist hier.

Der Fotograf schreibt dazu in seinem Flickr-Album: „During the week that followed, I fell in love, was witness to burning police vans, was hit by flying stones, soaked by water cannons, chased by police charges and ingested much tear gas. It was this heady mixture which induced me to give up the media studies course I had enrolled for at London Universities’ Goldsmith’s College, give up my squat and secure, subsidised place in a housing coop, leave London and live in Berlin.” […]
