Bit of a blast from the past, this one. It’s the first of two DJ sets by Massive Attack’s Mushroom recorded in ’94 to help promote the group’s second album, Protection. As you might expect from the Bristolian pot-melters, who were then at the height of their powers, it’s a masterclass in the juggling of different genres, with emphasis on dub, soul and hip-hop.
