It’s 1967, the USA is on the cusp of the hippie revolution and legendary amp manufacturers Vox (or rather to be entirely accurate VOX) are looking for a new way to promote their wares. We guess they initially considered an amp shaped car but that would be more like a bread van than a rolling advertisement so it seems the next best thing was a guitar shaped car and who better to commission it than the man behind the Batmobile – George Barris.

30 Songs in einer Minute auf der Gitarre

„Songs“ stimmt so natürlich nicht, aber die melodischen Charakteristika aus 30 Songs spielt Rob Scallon hier schon in einer Minute auf seiner Gitarre runter. Außerdem liegt da ein Magazin namens „Internet“, welches er als Mouse-Pad benutzt und das ihm womöglich verraten hat, das er mit der Nummer hier viral steil gehen könnte, aber das ist reine Spekulation. Am Ende spielt er seine Gitarre eben so gut, dass man tatsächlich alle 30 Nummern in dieser Minute erkennen kann. Wenn man sie kennt.

Kein echter DIY-Hinweis, weil die Gitarre dürfte ja der ein oder andere noch rumliegen haben, bei der Kalaschnikow dürfte das hierzulande glücklicherweise anders aussehen. Jimmy DiResta aber hatte eine. Perfekt.

Nur ein Mann mit Gitarre in der Fußgängerzone

Im September 2011 spielte der Russe Estas Tonne beim Stadtspektakel in Landshut seinen Song „The Song of the Golden Dragon“. Ich musste erst etwas über das Klischee des gut aussehenden, langhaarigen Gitarristen schmunzeln, aber dann kickte mich Tonne komplett aus dem Orbit. Ich meine, das ist _nur_ ein Gitarre, aber bei ihm klingt das Ding, als könnte eine Gitarre eine Waffe sein. Absolut wahnsinnig.
