Ich habe keine Ahnung, wie sich diese „in Reihe setzen“-Technik nennt, aber ich mag sie. Erdal Inci benutzt sie für seine GIFs, glaube ich, Felix Löchel editiert damit unter anderem Skateboard-Videos, was besonders gut zueinander passt.
2 KommentareÄhnliches ging zu Beginn des Jahres schonmal rum, entpuppte sich später allerdings nur als Scherz. Ryan Craven alias Mr. Hoverboard hatte sich das vielleicht zum Anlass genommen, so ein Ding dann tatsächlich mal zu bauen. Erste Testschwebungen wurden Ende November auf einer Skateanlage in Austin, Texas, durchgeführt. Und ja, sieht aus, als würde das funktionieren. Aber der Lärm, alter. Der Lärm!

Ein Brausehersteller hat ein paar Jungs mit ihren Decks in ein verlassenes Hotel nach Neuschottland nähe Halifax in Canada geführt und sie dort skaten lassen. Wofür so alte verlassene Hotels noch gut sein können.
Aspotogan was designed to be one of the finest seaside resorts in Eastern Canada. This 175,500 square foot retreat on the coast of Nova Scotia began construction in 1993 and for unknown reasons never saw completion. The hotel was left abandoned, forgotten, and frozen in time. Until now… A combination of builders and riders set out to the coast of Halifax to turn a 20 year abandoned hotel into a legendary multi-level concrete skate park. The crew brings new life into the abandoned space by transforming it into an ultimate 5-star skate retreat with custom transitions, rails and boxes built into the existing structure. Camping out for a week at Aspotogan, it’s their last resort to shred the spot before it is demolished forever.

Ich habe keine Ahnung, wie sich das Dingen so fährt, auch nicht, ob es sonderlich stabil in der Spitze ist, aber das ist egal, denn es ist ein Pizzastück-Skateboard mit Extra-Belag. Gibt es irgendwann heute wohl bei Good Company.

Ein KommentarUngewöhnlicher Skate-Spot, der aber natürlich auch ziemlich ungewöhnliche Bilder zulässt. Sean Collelo und Rob Miceli sind mit Brett und Kamera durch eine verlassene Psychiatrie in New York gerollt. Früher hätte man da Taschenlampen mitgenommen, den Jungs reichen ihre Tablets.

The campus is a pretty huge area made up of about 10 abandoned buildings and 4 buildings that are still functioning. Psych patients roam around the complex and so do cops. Most of the abandoned buildings are pretty boarded up so you can’t get in, but the thing that’s so sick is all the buildings are connected with underground tunnels, so if you can find a way into one, you can access them all. The nurses used these tunnels to deliver food and supplies to the patients all over the center. It’s surprisingly untouched. You will still find office supplies, files, photos, machinery, and other artifacts.
Once we found our way into the tunnels, we quickly learned it was a giant maze: Loads of dead ends, stairs going up and down, and puddles so big you have to use cinder blocks as stepping stones. The reason we called the project ‘The Search For BLDG.40′ is because the first room in the video that Rob skates was the hardest to get to.
