Ihr wisst ja, ich mag Ambient. Auch wenn das unter den von uns hektischen Wochen kaum jemand hören mag/kann. Es ist gerade Samstag morgen, ganz frisch, und es ist eh kaum noch jemand wach. Ich sitze in der Küche, habe das Fenster auf, lausche nebenbei den Singvögeln, höre wie so oft um diese Zeit Ambient.

Dieser Mix kommt von The Black Dog und wurde, wenn ich das richtig peile, von Soma auf CD released. Wenn nicht, ist das auch egal, aber immerhin haben die den kompletten Mix gesoundcloudet (ich mag jetzt nicht mehr irgendwelchen Links hinterher jagen, sorry) und zum Download freigegeben. Und weil das morgen früh eh keine Sau mehr interessiert, bringe ich das jetzt, der Ruhe wegen (der Truhe wegen hatte ich erst geschrieben). Ach, macht doch, was Ihr wollt.

Wenn ihr irgendwo noch eine gute Flasche Rotwein stehen habt, wäre genau das jetzt der perfekte Zeitpunkt sein, sie zu öffnen, sich zurückzulehnen und zu diesem Mix hier die Gedanken schweifen zu lassen. Genau das nämlich werde ich jetzt tun. Ich werde an den Sommer denken und an die verstaubten Chill Out Areas der hiesigen Festivals, auf die ich mich jetzt schon freue.

Nur alleine diese Playlist hiervon liest sich wie das Who’s Who of Downtempo, Ambient, und Classic Chill. Der Mix aber ist wie ein Spaziergang über Wolken. Wunderwunderschön.

Here’s a 323 minutes long chill-out mix, made for DJ Orkidea’s 23 hour set on 01.01.2010. The mix was recorded on 23th of December and the compiler (that’s me) has his birthday on the 23.2. Coincidence? ;)

This one indeed is 5 hours and 23 minutes long, it’s the longest chill-out set I’ve ever compiled and includes lots of my all-time favorites, classic chill-out tracks and fresh newcomers worth hearing. The mix starts with ambient soundscapes, evolves to melodic downtempo, then to more rhythmic tunes and ends with Ulrich Schnauss style “big room chill-out”.

Scuba mixt für allez-allez einen Podcast, in dem er all seine musikalischen Einflüsse unterbringt. Und dabei ist er ziemlich offen und scheut sich nicht vor Musik, die anderen peinlich wäre. Konsequent, wie ich finde. Aber ich will ehrlich sein, ich hab‘ bei den Pet Shop Boys ausgemacht. Das ist einfach nichts für mich, auch wenn der zweite Teil sich gut liest. Ich glaube, ich skippe einfach mal nochmal vor.

Miss Dinky ist eigentlich eher für schnelle und tanzbare Releases auf Labels wie Cocoon und Wagon Repair bekannt, dass sie aber auch anders kann, zeigt dieser Mix hier auf allez-allez.

her inspiration for this mix was berlin where she now lives and „how beautiful this city looks when is snows and how silent everything becomes as the snow is a natural sound blocker.“ that beauty is perfectly in encapsulated in this stunning mix.

Das es Ambient-Mixe gibt, die um Längen noch mehr „stunning“ sind – geschenkt. Ich mag die Playlist und ich mag es wenn sich Leute, von denen man es nicht unbedingt erwarten würde, dem Ambient öffnen.

Ich hab das Dingen schon seit Silvester geflaggt, aber man kommt ja zu nüscht. Nachdem mich Jens eben per Mail noch ein mal darauf hingewiesen hat, habe ich mir einfach mal die Zeit genommen, dass Dingen auch zu hören. Und ja, dieser Mix spiegelt ganz wunderbar einen Querschnitt der zwanzigjährigen Arbeit des Ausnahmelabels wieder. Der Name des Mixes kommt nicht von ungefähr und bei thelastbeat gibt es die Geschichte dazu.

Und wenn da steht, „Part 1 of a new Blech collection – classic tracks from Warp’s 20 year history“, ist davon auszugehen, dass da noch was nachkommt.
