Ich weiß nicht, was die beiden Wasserschnecken hier dazu bewegt, mit kleinen Karotten zu interagieren, aber es könnte sein, dass sie das einfach nur so und zum Spaß tun.
Einen Kommentar hinterlassenI have two nerite snails named Randolph and Mortimer (yes, after the Dukes in Trading Places). They are sisters who have lived with me for over a year. Up until this point, I had offered them a few types of food that they were not interested in, but one day I offered this baby carrot to them and shortly after, found Randolph doing what you see in this video. I left the carrot in for about a week, during which time Randolph and Mortimer ate the whole thing. In this video, I don’t think she’s eating it, but simply playing. I have other videos of her eating where you can clearly see her moving her head and engaged in the activity of eating. This is just her having fun.
In diesem konkreten Fall kann man wohl schon froh sein, daneben hin nicht geschwommen zu sein. Wie genau sich die Hippos trotz ihrer Körperfülle so schnell unter Wasser bewegen können, wird hier zu erklären versucht. Ein bisschen irgendwie.

Einen Kommentar hinterlassenFluffy and Lulu, two infant Mexican hairy dwarf porcupines, were found all alone and brought to the Nosara Refuge for Wildlife in Costa Rica to be raised under the care of a team of experts until they are ready for reintroduction into the wild.
Fluffy arrived at the centre in December 2018, while Lulo was brought in in January 2019.
The cute porcupines have now become inseparable and they even hang out together with a teddy bear which is double their size.
Das ist Tex. Tex mag es offensichtlich mit einem dieser großen Gummibälle zu spielen. Irgendwie war Tex hier etwas übereifrig und hat seinen Gummiball kaputt gemacht. Tex scheint etwas traurig. Hoffentlich bekommt Tex jetzt einen neuen Ball und der Besitzer zieht ihm dann diese Pool Nudeln übers Gehörn. Damit der neue Ball nicht gleich wieder kaputt geht.
