Hölzener Game Boy

Sebastian Staacks hat einen optisch sehr ansprechenden, maßgeschneiderten Game Boy aus den Überresten eines alten Nintendo-Handhelds, einer CNC-Maschine und natürlich etwas Holz hergestellt.

You made me create a wooden Game Boy shell. Yes, you made me do it. After I got myself a CNC machine a while back I just made a wooden Game Boy cartridge to get to know the machine, but social media wanted more. So, I made a Game Boy out of walnut wood. You can see the process in the video without much explanation. Chicken Nuggets Tetris Gameboy

Derweil in China:

A video unboxing and demonstration posted by one Chinese McDonald’s fan shows crisp shots of nugget-Tetris and its unlit LCD screen, as well as the included customization stickers and carrying case. Another unboxing video includes a better look at the back of the machine, including a removable battery pack, speaker grate, and power switch.

Komplettsammlung aller je erschienener Game Boy Spiele

Menschen sammeln Ding, was ich persönlich sehr schön finde, auch wenn ich selber nichts mehr sammle. Früher waren es mal Briefmarken, später Schallplatten, heute nichts mehr wirklich leidenschaftlich.

Twitter User @marumi_1985 hat sich im Jahr 2019 daran gemacht alle je für den Game Boy veröffentlichte Spiele sammeln zu wollen. Es dauerte zwei Jahre, dass er alle 1.244 beisammen hatte. Ganz billig war das wohl nicht.

According to SoraNews 24, @marumi_1985 had 1,236 Game Boy games in May of this year, and was seeking eight additional titles: R-Type DX, Wizardry II, Wizardry III, Esparks, The Black Onyx, Deja Vu 1 & 2, Little Magic, and Earth Liberation Army Zas.

He probably paid quite a bit of money for these rare titles. Earth Liberation Army Zas, for instance is listed on eBay at prices ranging from $490 to $3,500.

Restaurierung eines Game Boy Colors

Bei Odd Tinkering hat man sich für zwei Dollar einen ollen, gammeligen und ehemals transparenten Game Boy Color geholt, das Dingen komplett zerlegt, repariert und wieder neu zusammengebaut. Ja, da bedarf es jeder Menge Fähigkeiten und ein kleines Chemielabor sollte man auch im Hause haben, wenn man das selber machen möchte. Oder halt einfach seine Mittagspause nutzen, um dabei zuzusehen, wie andere das machen. Hat etwas sehr Entschleunigendes.
