Wir brauchen nicht über den Sinn oder Unsinn dieser riesigen Dampfer diskutieren, wenn sie in eine kleine Hafenstadt in Norwegen einfahren wirken sie so oder so imposant und beklemmend zugleich.

Im Jahr 2014 haben Archäologen am Digervarden einen uralten Ski gefunden und warten seitdem darauf, dass der zweite Ski des Paares auftaucht. Das ist jetzt geschehen und der Zustand des jetzigen Fundes ist wohl noch besser als bei dem aus 2014. Unschwer zu erkennen: da freut sich das Archäologen-Gemüt.
We have found the best-preserved pair of skis from prehistory! Back in 2014, the Secrets of the Ice program found an exceptional pre-Viking ski, 1300 years old, at the Digervarden Ice patch in Norway. The ski was complete, including the binding – one of only two skis from prehistory in this condition. Ever since, we have monitored the ice patch, hoping and praying for the second ski of the pair to melt out. Now it has happened! The new ski is even better preserved than the first one! It is an unbelievable find.

Norway is beautiful. Amazing steep rock walls, fjords, glaciers and beautiful waterfalls around every corner. Here’s just one of the many lines I did during my holiday there. I passed this spot two times during a stay nearby and just had to stop next to the road and send a few packs! I think it worked out nicely. Location was Gudvangen, waterfall is named Kjelfossen.
