Die Frau des Hauses und ich hatten mal so eine Zeit, in der wir abends hin und wieder gemeinsam puzzelten. Viel puzzelten. Wir mochten das schon als Kinder und nahmen das irgendwie mit in unsere Beziehung. Nach einem gar nicht mal so leichten 5000er hörten wir damit auf, ohne je wieder darüber gesprochen zu haben. Die Zeit des gemeinsamen Puzzelns war damit vorbei. Keine Ahnung, warum dem so war, aber ist gerade auch gar nicht so wichtig.
Youtuber Andre F hat sein Wohnzimmer leergemacht und dann 9 Monate an einem 33.600-Teile-Puzzle gesessen. Den Prozess dessen hat er zu einem Timelapse-Video gemacht – und das ist schon ein bisschen episch. 33.600 Teile. 9 Monate. Ein Puzzle. Geiler Tüp!

Neues und wieder sehr beeindruckendes Timelapse-Video von Stormchaser Mike Olbinski, den ich hier schon öfter mal hatte. Dieses Video fasst Aufnahmen von ihm zusammen, die im Frühjahr 2017 entstanden sind und für die er weit gereist ist.
Einen Kommentar hinterlassenThe work on this film began on March 28th and ended June 29th. There were 27 total days of actual chasing and many more for traveling. I drove across 10 states and put over 28,000 new miles on the ol’ 4Runner. I snapped over 90,000 time-lapse frames. I saw the most incredible mammatus displays, the best nighttime lightning and structure I’ve ever seen, a tornado birth caught on time-lapse and a display of undulatus asperatus that blew my mind. Wall clouds, massive cores, supercell structures, shelf clouds…it ended up being an amazing season and I’m so incredibly proud of the footage in this film.
Der Fotograf Mike Olbinski hat die seltenen Wolkenformationen der Undulatus Asperitas filmen und daraus ein Timelapse machen können. Das ist wunderschön und könnte hier locker auch als Bildschirmschoner endlos laufen.
Die Wolkenformation ist vermutlich am nächsten mit der Unterart Undulatus verwandt. Obwohl sie dunkel und sturmartig erscheinen, lösen sie sich meist ohne Bildung eines Sturms auf. Die unheilvoll aussehenden Wolken erscheinen besonders häufig in den Staaten der Great Plains der USA, oft in den Morgen- oder Mittagsstunden nach konvektiver Gewitteraktivität.

Chad Cowan ist ausgezogen, um Superzellen und die damit einhergehenden Unwetter in 4K zu filmen. Und so mächtig wie die Natur dabei auch sein mag, sieht sie dennoch wunderschön aus.
This collection of timelapses was gathered over the last six years. The project started out as wanting to be able to see the life-cycles of these storms, just for my own enjoyment and to increase my understanding of them. Over time, it morphed into an obsession with wanting to document as many photogenic supercells as I could, in as high a resolution as possible, as to be able to share with those who couldn’t see first hand the majestic beauty that comes alive in the skies above America’s Great Plains every Spring. After more than 100,000 miles on the road and tens of thousands of shutter clicks later, this is the result. I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed creating it.

Ein KommentarDer Herkuleskäfer gilt als größter Käfer der Welt und lebt in Süd- und Mittelamerika. Ich weiß nicht, ob ich den eher anmutig oder doch eher als nicht ganz so schön empfinden soll. Dieses Zeitraffer, das die Metamorphose von der Raupe bis zum Käfer zeigt, stellt zumindest die Frage in den Raum, ob es nicht doch Aliens auf der Erde gibt.

Ein wirklich rasant geschnittenes Time Lapse von FilmSpektakel, das den ersten Eindrücken, die diese pulsierende Metropole hinterlässt, vielleicht perfekt widerzuspiegeln weiß. Ziemlich genau so habe ich meine ersten drei Stunden in dieser Stadt wahrgenommen. Wie ein Wespennest, das nie zur Ruhe kommt. Dennoch oder vielleicht gerade deswegen würde ich gerne mal wieder hinwollen.

In September 2016 we visited this awesome city to try out some new time lapse stuff.
It took us 10 days, a lot of burgers and one helicopter ride to produce this video. 10 days is very little time to discover this city of endless opportunities, so we hardly slept anything and shot day and night for this time lapse film. The city that never sleeps indeed!
Der Schweizer Sales Wick ist nicht nur Pilot sondern nebenbei auch noch Fotograf. So hat er das Glück seine Kamera im Cockpit eines Flieger positionieren und beeindruckende Aufnahmen wie diese machen zu können.
Dabei sind die leuchtenden Städte von unten nicht mal das Schönste. Zumindest nicht im Vergleich zu dem, was da am Himmel passiert. Die Milchstraße leuchtet und wirft Sternschnuppen durch die Gegend.
The latter is the case for my todays flight across the Atlantic Ocean to South America. Our flight is packed and some 340 passengers are settling in for a long night flight. Its my turn to be at the flightdeck for the first part of the journey, as my other co-pilot gets the chance to rest in the crew bunk above the passenger cabin. We are heading our westbound, along the clearly visible Alps to our left. Just before reaching Geneva and the western tip of Switzerland we are making a shallow left turn to join the Rhone valley leading us to Marseille and onward onto the Mediterranean Sea. Our routing will bring us towards Algeria and on across the northwestern part of the vast Sahara. We will be flying past Dakar in Senegal where we will be heading out onto the Atlantic Ocean. Our south-westerly course will get us across the wide blue – in fact it was pitch-black during the night – to the north eastern shore of Brazil. Landfall is expected just north of Rio de Janeiro and the remaining few hundred miles will get us straight towards Sao Paolo. Our landing is expected around 6am local time, still before the sun will rise.

Infrarot-Fotografie ist immer wieder spannend und eröffnet einem bei genauem Hinsehen neue Perspektiven. Time Lapse Videos sind schon länger durch, aber ein Infrarot-Time Lapse Video habe ich bisher so nicht gesehen – und finde das ganz geil.
