By summer 2010, the expansion of bike lanes in NYC exposed a clash of long-standing bad habits — such as pedestrians jaywalking, cyclists running red lights, and motorists plowing through crosswalks.
By focusing on one intersection as a case study, my video aims to show our interconnection and shared role in improving the safety and usability of our streets.

Dieses kurze Video zeigt den weltweiten Luftverkehr dieses Planeten in 70 Sekunden. Besonders schön dabei ist zu beobachten, wie sich die Tag- und Nachtphasen auswirken. Dort, wo es dunkel wird, passiert weniger in der Luft als dort, wo es hell ist. Irgendwie mag das logisch klingen, aber hierbei sieht das auch noch toll aus.
Diese Aufnahmen sind nicht ganz frisch, aber es davon auszugehen, dass sich am Traffic generell nicht sonderlich viel geändert hat und das wenn doch, der eher zunehmend ist.

Also you will see the aircraft FLOW OF AIR TRAFFIC leaving the United States and traveling at night to arrive in Europe in the morning. Then you will see the flow changing, departing Europe in the morning and flying to the North American continent in daylight.
It is a 24 hour observation of all of the large aircraft flights in the world, condensed down to less than 2 minutes. From space we look like a beehive of activity.

Im „National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation“ in Tokyo hat man sich dieses tolle Spielzeug in die Decke gehängt. Einen Globus, der durch 10,000 organischen Leuchtdioden (OLEDs) den Planeten bei 20 Fuß Durchmesser darstellt. Feine Sache, hätte ich gerne im Garten.

Phon.o, von dem ich erstmalig im Kontext des Labels Monkeytown, welches die Modeselektoren machen, gehört hatte, hat auf dessen Sublabel 50Weapons vor ein paar Wochen eine 12″ veröffentlicht, von der Slavemode die A-Seite ist. Er bewegt sich damit irgendwo zwischen Clubroot, Pangaea, Peverelist, und Moderat. Tolle Nummer, zu der der Kanadier Sascha Drews dieses simple aber dennoch schöne Video gemacht hat.

Ich glaube, so was Ähnliches schon mal gesehen zu haben, finde die optisch akustische Darstellung von Gefühlen der unschönen Art in Wechselwirkung auf die eigene Wahrnehmung, wie sie Tadas Svilainis in seinem Kurzfilm „140 db“ hier zeigt, dennoch sehenswert.
