The Engineering of Duct Tape

To understand how duct tape is engineered, Bill dissolves the tape in solvent to reveals its three components — plastic backing, adhesive, and cloth reinforcement. He explains the function of each part, highlighting that the adhesive is a viscoelastic substance — a substance that can act like a liquid or a solid and it can behave elastically. It is these behaviors underlying the characteristic behavior of duct tape: adhere when light pressure is applied, hold tight, then let go when peeled from a surface.

Album-Stream: Philip Glass & Paul Leonard-Morgan – Tales from the Loop (Solo Piano Version)

Piano Soundtrack des Tages.

Tales from the Loop is a 2020 American science fiction drama based on the artwork of retro-futurist Swedish artist Simon Stålenhag. The series follows the interconnected lives of the residents of the fictional town of Mercer, Ohio. Mercer is home to a center for experimental physics and its underground facility known as the Loop. The drama unfolds against a score of an almost static beauty composed by Philip Glass and Paul Leonard-Morgan.
The original score was well-received, especially by fans, and immediately there was an online groundswell of hundreds of piano renditions of the music by amateurs and professionals alike. Leonard-Morgan was well aware of the tributes and immediately set about arranging and recording a number of selections from the score for solo piano for himself.

SONY VT-M5

Hübsches, aber auch ein eher unnötiges Stück Vintage Tech: der SONY VT-M5, mit dem man in den 1970ern den Sound von TV-Sendungen aufnehmen konnte. Später kam dann der Videorekorder und machte das Teil überflüssig. Techmoan hat sich trotzdem so ein Ding besorgt und guckt mit uns mal drüber.

Also ich könnte das nicht. Ich könnte es auch nicht entwickeln, aber ich mir das nicht wenig fasziniert am Stück ansehen, wie ich gerade feststellen konnte.

This is the world’s first experimental video about 56 transition controls that occur in a triple inverted pendulum. The triple inverted system was developed by Embedded Control Lab. Control was implemented using LW-RCP02, which was developed by Embedded Control Lab, and Simulink. The sampling time is 1 ms.
