Wer auch immer sich mit dubbiger Elektronik beschäftigt und in den letzten Jahren noch nichts von Dadub gehört hat, sollte langsam umschulen und bei den letzten Jahrzehnten bleiben. Angefangen haben sie 2009 auf dem italienischen Netlabel A Quiet Bump und dann ging es irgendwie, zumindest gefühlt ziemlich schnell durch die Decke mit ihnen, auch wenn ihre Discographie noch immer recht übersichtlich ist. Kaum irgendwer anders schafft es aktuell den Dub und die Elektronik so grazil zusammen in ein Bett zu bekommen wie eben die beiden. Dass das aber möglich ist beweisen sie hin und wieder mit so exorbitant großartigen Mixen wie diesem hier für Electronique, bei dem die Tracklist schon wie gestapelte Zuckerwürfel wirkt, die es aufeinander zu stapeln gilt. Was mir beim ersten Lesen nicht mal den Versuch wert wäre, wird von denen scheinbar aus dem Ärmel geschüttelt und so vereinen sie Dub, Techno, Ambient, IDM und alles andere was Spaß macht aus drölf Jahren, als wäre das das einfachste der Welt. Mix der Woche.

I Wish I Said Hello, ein irgendwie romantisches und auch deshalb tolles, interaktives Street Art Projekt aus Manhattan.
According to Wikipedia, a missed connection is an occurrence where two or more people are unable to exchange contact information or the information that is exchanged is lost. These missed connections are generally associated with romance, but they may also be business-related or otherwise. Through the use of publications and websites some people seek to reconnect with their missed connection.
We find there’s something poetic about this desperate hope for the reencounter, but also something very ironic about using the internet as the tool to achieve it. It turns out that in the era of social media, when we’re supposedly connected to anyone in the world, the network of missed connections is one of the most inefficient ones.
Our goal is not to be another platform for reconnection, rather than a celebration of everyday poetics, a physical mapping of a digital network, a commentary on the role of technology in human communication.
We try to encapsulate specific encounters into stickers. We combine parts of the original text with graphical elements that resonate with it. We use a common, universal style derived from public signage, as well as shapes and colors that imply the digital origin of the story. Once the illustrations are created, we place them at the exact location where that missed connection happened and we document it on the website.
Currently, a series of stickers are installed in different areas of Manhattan, but our goal is to provide a method that’s simple enough for collaborators to join and spread the movement through other cities.

Ich habe keine Ahnung, wie madandcrazychild es angestellt hat, das sie ihren Kopf tatsächlich fast auf jedem Foto in der selben Position hatte, aber darum geht es ja auch nicht. In der Zeit vom 26.09.2006 bis 28.05.2012 machte sie jeden Tage ein Foto von sich, die sie hier zu einem 65 Sekunden langen Video zusammengetan hat. Offenbar hat sie damit Erfahrung, stellte sie schon vorher immer wieder wenn auch kürzere Videos diese Art ins Netz.
Und sie beweist damit mal ganz nebenbei, dass egal, wie gut wir alle aussehen, wir alle irgendwie älter werden.
Vielleicht hält sie diese Technik noch 15 Jahre länger bei und dokumentiert somit ihr halbes Leben. Wahrscheinlich sogar wird sie das in Planung haben.
