Wandverbuntmachung in Sao Paulo

The graffiti artist „Mundano“ painted a big Brazilian flag on this building that for more than a decade, the old Santos Dumond Hotel, in downtown Sao Paulo, was empty. Today, it shelters more than 120 families that have illegally occupied the building.

Kubrick vs. Scorsese – 25 days, 34 films, and 1 tribute

Ein cineastisches Mashup. Und was für eins!

Editor’s note: Many friends after seeing my video „Tarantino vs Coen Brothers“ requested me to do a new video duel of directors, so I decided to do now a tribute to my two favorite directors, Stanley Kubrick and Martin Scorsese, were 25 days re-watching 34 films, selected more than 500 scenes, and a hard work editing. Leave a comment, suggest new duels.

Download: bvdub – 2 hours and 20 years

Das. Ist. Episch.

This weekend we have another outstanding mix for you! 2 hours and 20 years has been put together by Brock Van Wey, releasing under bvdub, exclusively for Headphone Commute. It is indeed special, since this is Brock’s first mix made in 15 years with moments of elation. It was made on a 2-hour morning bus ride from Shanghai, where Brock reflected on the last 20 years immersed in electronic music. Carried by his emotional ups and downs, the mix incorporates a verity of tracks along the memory lane…

Bewegtes Licht: Lightrails

‚Lightrails‘ is a light sculpture with the intention to re-define and re-interpret the exhibition room. An easy but effective mapping technique was used to create seamless projections on both sides of the object. Light-beams were triggered by the visitors and ran through the room, following the surface created by the sculpture. Each „reflection“ of the light-beam was accompanied by sound. The speed and brightness of the beam was directly influenced by the force the visitors used when triggering the beam stepping on pedals on the floor. This also influenced the volume of the sound-effects. The audio signal was played back on a surround sound system that allowed a spatial positioning of the sounds and created a truly immersive experience.ounds to create a truly immersive experience.
