Daft Punks „Face to Face“ mit neueren Samples nachbauen

So I challenged myself to recreate Daft Punk’s “Face to Face” using samples that were released long after when the samples for the original track were released.

While the original used samples mostly coming from the 1970s and 80s, I decided to use songs from a later time frame, hovering around the 2000s and early 2010s.

This is mostly just something I did for fun; I wanted to see how close I could get to the original song while using entirely different samples. Either way, hope you enjoy!

Wie Stardusts „Music Sounds Better With You“ entstanden ist

Musikgeschichte.

Alan Braxe, one third of Stardust, dives into the story behind one of dance music’s most recognisable and celebrated tracks, created by one of the genre’s most mysterious outfits.

Braxe speaks of meeting Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter and how ‚Music Sounds Better With You‘ itself was initially an improvised set filler, as well as discovering its famous Chaka Khan sample, and provides insight into its iconic video directed by Michel Gondry.

Daft Punk – The Writing of Fragments of Time (RAM 10th Anniversary) ft. Todd Edwards

Woraus Daft Punk damals ihr „One more time“ zusammengeleimt haben

Bands kommen, Bands gehen. Ist halt so.

Aber: weil ich vorhin erst meinte, dass ich mir so Sampling-Stories gerne auch mal länger ansehe, hier die dazu, wie Daft Punk „One more time“ zusammengeleimt haben.

Und das war mit Eddie Johns‘ „More Spell on You“ halt schon eine außerordentlich geile Art der Wiederverwertung.

Bei Daft Punk dann halt so:

Daft Punk geben Trennung bekannt

(Direktlink)

Daft Punk, the Parisian duo responsible for some of the most popular dance and pop songs ever made, have split. They broke the news with an 8-minute video titled “Epilogue,” excerpted from their 2006 film Electroma. Asked if Daft Punk were no more, their longtime publicist Kathryn Frazier confirmed the news to Pitchfork but gave no reason for the breakup.
