Disney hat sich kein Geringeren als Tim Burton ins Boot geholt und ihn den Disney-Klassiker Dumbo neu auflegen lassen. Ich denke, den sollte man gesehen haben.

Disney hat zusammen mit dem ETH Zürich (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology) einen kleinen, fahrenden Roboter entwickelt, der auch auf Wänden, scheinbar mühelos, fahren kann: den VertiGo. Möglich gemacht wird das über zwei neigbare Propeller, die für die nötige Wandhaftung sorgen. Was Disney mit dem Ding will, ist bisher nicht bekannt.
“About why Disney is interested in this area, I am not able to say specifics as you can understand,“ Disney Research scientist Paul Beardsley told IEEE Spectrum. „But just speaking in general, one can imagine that robots with lighting effects could be useful for entertainment effects or for wall games. This also relates to the question of why the ground-wall transition is useful. If you have to manually place a robot on a wall at the start of a deployment, and manually remove it at the end, then that’s taking manpower and it’s not flexible. If the robot can make those transitions automatically, then you are a step in the direction of autonomous deployment, and that makes the technology more powerful. We are motivated by making a practical device, so it is real-world feedback and challenges that drive our work.”

Fidia Falaschetti macht unter anderem kleine, popartige Skulpturen, die auch immer ein Stück Kritik mit sich bringen. René hat ein paar davon zusammengetragen. Mickey mag ich besonders gerne.
Ein Kommentar Nick Bertke aka Pogo hat sich wieder alte Disney-Schinken vorgenommen und mit Samples aus diesen einen Track gebastelt. Das ist mittlerweile nicht mehr ganz so spannend, aber „Trouble“ erinnert ganz schön dolle an die Musik von Commercial Breakup, das wohl am meisten unterschätzte deutsche Popprojekt (ever!) von Elke Brauweiler.

EDM-Mäusekopf Deadmau5 hat aktuell ein wenig Stress mit Disney, wobei die sich gegenseitig wegen der Ohren an die Ohren wollen. Mickey Mouse und so. Totmau5 klagt jetzt auch, weil Disney sich wohl für einen Trailer an einem seiner Songs vergriffen haben soll. Dieser wurde mittlerweile von der Disney-Website gelöscht. *lölchen*
Ich sehe da keine Verlierer. Mein Oma würde sagen: „Beide in einen Sack stecken und mit dem Knüppel rauf hauen. Triffste immer den richtigen.“ Mein Oma war eine kluge Frau.
