Augenzucker: Maxim Zhestkov – Artificial Organisms

Neue Arbeit von Maxim Zhestkov, der dafür künstliche Organismen wabern, schimmern und pulsieren lässt.

We are a product of biological evolution that started its own evolutionary process in the virtual space. Isolated from human control by design, digital intelligence defines its further evolution by itself, slowly growing into an independent subject that will eventually redefine our physical and virtual realities.

Detached from biological, it is a digital-born inhabitant of the metaverse. Will it manifest itself in any three-dimensional shape or will it outgrow our form-oriented reality?

For centuries to come, Artificial Organisms, unfamiliar creatures of the new world, will exist in the digital universes, exploring and building them without our guidance. Perceiving these creatures from our point of view, we can only imagine how they will look, projecting our outdated beliefs onto the unknown future, where might no longer be a place for us.

Augenzucker: Layers – Art film by Maxim Zhestkov

Neues Optikschmankerl des Digitalkünstlers Maxim Zhestkov.

Layers is a 4K digital art film directed by Maxim Zhestkov exploring the juxtaposition of the outside and inside. Computer-generated dark and brutal geometric monoliths are dissected by invisible 3D objects to reveal the layers of the colourful and emotionally vibrant inner structures. At the intersections of the shapes we encounter complex structures which could be perceived as 3D representations of objects within a 4D universe.

Augenzucker: Optics – Art film by Maxim Zhestkov

Neues und wieder saugutes Video CGI-Magiers Maxim Zhestkov.

Optics is an experimental art film by Maxim Zhestkov exploring the behaviour of artificial light and colour in digital environments. Blending architectural gallery space with computer-generated digital glass sculptures, we encounter animated refractions, chromatic aberrations, colourful reflection and other conditions which are impossible in reality. A series of tests and explorations guides us through different optical conditions of the bright and colourful digital universe.
