Ich gucke auf arte gerade diese Reportage über ein Krankenhaus für Rundschwanzseekühe in Puerto Rico und schmelze dabei vielleicht ein bisschen dahin, weil I’m still `<3 Manatees.
Sie sind der Inbegriff der Gemütlichkeit im Meer: Rundschwanzseekühe, auch Manatis genannt. Ruhig und behäbig lassen sie sich treiben. Obwohl sie keine natürlichen Feinde haben, ist ihr Bestand massiv bedroht, und zwar durch Motorboote, die die Tiere immer wieder verletzen. Die letzte Chance für diese Seekühe ist das Auffangzentrum in Puerto Rico, das die Unfallopfer pflegt.Ein Kommentar

I changed the batteries out and reached over the front to turn the light switch on to see if the lights worked, they didn’t work. There was just a wire loose. I then proceeded to walk around and put the cart in reverse, to hear if the reverse buzzer worked. It did. I turned on the key and it took off! I then pushed it out a little, pondered the damage, which was extensive. Then just wanted to tick it in forward and it took off again. I held on so it would hit the door on the other side and just missed it, plowing into the golf clubs and then the wall, leaving a pretty big hole. It turns out that the accelerator rod had rusted and stuck it in wide open. The cart, door, and wall were fixed in two days, but I’ll say I won’t work on any more carts inside.“

Was kommt denn bitte hier gerade rein, Leuddies?! The KLF haben mit „Come Down Dawn“ gerade eine re-editierte Version ihres Albums „Chill Out“ rausgehauen und im kompletten Stream auf YouTube geparkt. Man mag mir meine diesbezügliche Aufgeregtheit verzeihen, aber kein anderes Album hat mein musikalisches Verständnis so hart geprägt wie eben „Chill Out“ von The KLF. Ich bin ob dessen hier gerade echt nicht nur ein bisschen aus dem Häuschen! Das. Ist. Unfassbar. Großartig! Und so unendlich zeitlos, ohne dabei wie Schlecker-Yoga-Ambient-Gedüdel zu klingen. Ich lieb’s immer noch hart, wie ich gerade feststelle.
Come Down Dawn is a re-edited version of the 1990 album Chill Out, with selection of prominent samples from the original release removed in the mix. The omissions include a BBC Radio 1 jingle from the Friday Rock Show featuring Tommy Vance, and direct excerpts from a 1961 composition „Stranger on the Shore“ by Acker Bilk, a 1968 song „Albatross“ by Fleetwood Mac, a 1989 song „After the Love“ by Jesus Loves You (both from „3 a.m. Somewhere out of Beaumont“), and a 1969 song „In the Ghetto“ by Elvis Presley (from „Elvis on the Radio, Steel Guitar in My Soul“).
