Ryan Jeffery hat mit dem Sound einer Band namens Adelaide, über die ich rein gar nichts finden kann, zwei grandios schöne Videos im Vintage-Stil produziert, wofür ich ja sowieso schon immer zu haben bin. Der Sound dazu ist auch alles andere als übel, wenn auch nicht mehr ganz frisch.

Ich hatte den ja erst gestern in den Platten der Woche und just findet deepgoa einige Mixe von bvdub. Neben denen gibt es zusätzlich noch andere auf der Page von bvdub. Ich habe kurz mal reingehört und die für gut befunden. Wenn ich etwas mehr Zeit übrig habe, höre ich die dann mal durch.

Carsten Fiebeler lässt in seiner Dokumentation sechs Protagonisten der Ostpunkszene zu Wort kommen, durchmischt die Interviewpassagen mit Archivmaterial aus den 70er- und 80er-Jahren, mit Propaganda- und privaten 8mm-Aufnahmen. „Too much Future“ erzählt von einer wilden Zeit, vom Leben danach und der martialischen Unterdrückung dazwischen. Allerdings bleiben viele der Aussagen vage, und es liegt beim Zuschauer, sie zu deuten und zu bewerten.

Between 1996 and 1998 I worked as mastering engineer and vinyl cutter at Dubplates & Mastering, a company founded by Basic Channel in 1995. Shortly before I left, Rashad Becker joined the team. Over the years he became one of the most inspired and skilled mastering people out there, with an impressive customer list. While still working for Dubplates & Mastering, he now runs his own studio in Berlin Kreuzberg, where he’s doing CD mastering and mixing. The following talk took place during a rainy summer day 2008 in his studio.

Ich weiß: CollegeHumor ist irgendwie unpopulär. Ist mir hier aber mal völlig egal, der junge Mann hier nämlich ist eine echt Granate an seiner Gitarre, singen kann der, und telegen ist der auch noch. Bei soviel Gutdünken will ich sogar mal über den Beatlesschmuh hinwegsehen. Und überhaupt: Er spielt Daft Punk. Auf der Gitarre!
