Ich weiß, der Effekt ist schon staubalt, mich aber faszinieren diese Bilder dennoch immer wieder aufs Neue. Florian Rouzaud Cornabas war nachts in urbanen Räumen unterwegs und hat dieses schöne Video daraus gemacht, welches auch super GIFs abwirft.

Die schottische Küste von oben

Ich war noch nie in Schottland, wollte aber, seitdem ich damals zum ersten Mal „Braveheart“ sah, unbedingt immer mal hin. Diese Aufnahmen, für die John Duncan seine Drohne hat in die Luft gehen lassen, allerdings, verstärken den Drang, endlich mal hinzufahren, doch wirklich sehr.

Eine Stunde MTV-Ads aus den 80ern und 90ern

Eine nostalgische Reise zurück in die Zeit, in der im Musikfernsehen noch Musik lief. Die Filmchen, die MTV auf MTV selber bewarben, waren im Regelfall immer kleine Kunstwerke. Und ich kenne sie fast alle.

Collated from various sources – this is a quick and easy way to view a wide selection of the MTV Idents without hunting around You Tube. The Ads date from way back in 1981 when the station opened, to circa 1995 as the golden age came to an end. Denis Leary idents aside, this compilation comprises the 10, 20 and 30 second clips rather than the longer ones they also ran (Things Never Seen, Joe’s Apartment etc).

Fürs Auge und für die Birne: eine superschönes Schach-Set aus dem Raw Studio, welches mit Figuren aus Metallringen auf einer ledernen Rolle daherkommt, die gleichsam als Brett funktioniert. Ein echter Hingucker, der mit £395.00 leider nicht ganz billig ist.

„The game pieces are made of heat treated and oxidized stainless steel that is hand polished to create the beautiful colour differences. No chemicals are used. The leather board is hand cut and sewn in order to create the precise geometric pattern. The white/black squares represented by the tactile contrast of the suede and skin side of the same Italian leather hide. The presentation box is custom made for us by a local, family business using old, Victorian machinery.“
