Flammen auf Kupfer machen bunte Uhren

Brent Artman ist ein in Colorado lebender Künstler, der für sich Kupfer im Zusammenhang mit Flammen entdeckt hat und aus dieser Kombination heraus bunte Wanduhren herstellt. Nice.

Brent Artman is an artist in Colorado. He takes a large piece of copper and cleans it until it’s shiny. He uses reduction flame to remove oxidation from the piece and create line work on the copper. Once he has his pattern mapped out, he can start to change the color of the design with the fire. Once the piece is complete, he seals it with a clear coat so the colors don’t continue to oxidize.

23 Banknoten aus drei Jahrhunderten verschmelzen in einem Musikvideo zu einer hypnotisierenden Animation

Lachlan Turczan hat für Blake Mills‚ Song „Money Is The One True God“ 23 Banknoten aus drei Jahrhunderten und verschiedenen Ländern in Hochauflösung gescannt und diese wirklich beeindruckende Animation geschaffen, die uns Geld so zeigt, wie wir es noch nie gesehen haben. Wozu das auch gut sein kann.

I made hi-resolution scans of banknotes from 23 countries ranging from the 1800s to the modern-day. Machine learning was used to further enhance these scans so that I could zoom in on the intricacies of the engravings. Using replacement animation techniques, the guilloché patterns wash over the viewer in a barrage of linework and geometry. Iconic scenes throughout history are also shown: the age of exploration leads to industrialization, wonders of the world are replaced by office buildings and icons of freedom stand in stark contrast to images of slavery. The project culminates with the collective eyes of all world leaders staring back at the audience.

Wie Time-lapse Videos wachsender Pilze gefilmt werden

Ich hatte hier schon so einige Zeitraffervideos von wachsenden Pilzen im Blog, die mir auch heute noch nur selten langweilig erscheinen. Daran, diese Videos zu machen, haben offenbar so einige Fotografen ihre Freuden. Wired hat sich mal genauer angesehen, wie diese Art von Videos gefilmt werden.
