Ich ging immer davon aus, dass DJs generell sich eher an zwei von einander getrennten Plattenspielern abarbeiteten, die dann durch ein externes Mischpult verbunden wurden. Offenbar aber ging man technisch in den USA Ende der 60 Jahre einer anderen Idee nach, die man bis in die 80er verfolgte. Man arbeitete daran, zwei Plattenspieler in eine portable Kiste zu bauen, die alles, was zum Mixing nötig war, gleich mit eingebaut hatte. Aus dieser Idee entstanden gleich mehrere Modelle, die Irgendwer auf freewebs zusammengetragen hat.
Ich hatte ja keine Ahnung. Aber das erklärt auch, woher die eigentliche Idee vom DJ-Controller herkommt. Vielleicht.
The evolution of the twin-deck DJ console really began in the sixties and took off properly in the seventies, continuing into the eighties and nineties when CD arrived and eventually took over. Two turntables are used so that when the record on turntable number 1 has finished turntable number 2 is started and another record can be played with no ‚gap‘ between the two, hence the operator is known as a ‚disc jockey‘ or DJ!
A control panel or ‚mixer‘ allows the DJ to fade the volume between the two turntables and to listen to tracks on headphones to find the correct starting point before playing ‚live‘ to the audience (this is known as pre-fade listen or PFL for short). There is also provision for a microphone and auxiliary inputs for tape decks etc. Some consoles have built in amplifiers and others can be plugged into external ones.

(Ich habe jetzt eine ganze Weile versucht, herauszubekommen, wo die eigentliche Quelle des Fotos liegt. Alles was ich bekam, waren irgendwelche Fotosammeldingsis ala Pinterest. Vielleicht weiß ja wer, wo genau das Dingen herkommt und vor allem, wer es geschnitzt hat.)
2 KommentareIch hatte ungefähr sechs verschiedene Varianten, hierzu einen Text zu beginnen, aber irgendwie erscheinen alle völlig sinnlos. Und das passt dann auch irgendwie zu diesem Video. Ich weiß es doch auch nicht!

It starts to refuse military support because it detects a basic lacking of internal logical consistency of war.
GOLEM gives several lectures with focus on mankind’s position in the process of evolution and the possible biological and intellectual future of humanity before it ceases communication.
The movies tells about the first point of its „about man threefold“ lecture as a reduced and simplified version while visually weaving this with GOLEM simulating human culture processes based on ideas and dynamics of freedom and curiosity, fear and security, abstraction and fiction, the lack of accessibility in face of unknowing and the need for generating meaning.
Die Podcast-Mixe von Solace sind immer außerordentlich gut. Zumal die den Dubstep so mögen, wie auch ich ihn am liebsten habe. Irgendwie träge und so tief wie die Braunkohlevorräte unter der Lausitz. So haben auch Perverse für die aktuelle Ausgabe ihre Schaufelbagger geschwungen und jede Menge atmosphärischen Bass ausgegraben.

Sehr interessante Erhebung von Digital Music News, die anhand des Verkaufes von Merchandising-Artikeln errechnet haben, welche von denen die meisten Einnahmen reinspülen. Daneben haben sie dann auch gleich mal visualisiert, was nach der Ausgaben-Einahmen Rechnung bei jedem Artikel durchschnittlich hängen bleibt. Dass die die Daten dafür von einem Merchandising Provider haben, macht einen etwas bitteren Beigeschmack, bleibt aber dennoch interessant.
Inwiefern sich das auf den hiesigen Merchandising-Verkauf übertragen lässt, kann ich außerdem schwer abschätzen.
