Passt mir heute nicht so ganz in die Stimmung, aber wenn die Punk-Opas schlechthin aufeinandertreffen, kann das nicht unerwähnt bleiben. Henry Rollins arbeitet sich hier für KCRW zwei Stunden an den Songs von Iggy Pop und den Stooges ab und tritt dabei ordentlich Arsch. Nur die Mercedes Werbung im Vorfeld ist irgendwie so… naja.

Ryan von ASIP hat wieder einmal einen durchweg großartigen Mix ins Netz gepumpt, der mir den sonnigen Tag so was von versüßt – allein die Tracklist ist Zucker. Fehlt nur noch die Hängematte zum perfekten Glück. Traumhaft schön.

The ambient music has gone for this one. The closest you’re getting is the first two tracks, but this quickly changes. I started this mix with the intention of producing a journey full of repetitive, melodic electronic music. That was the brief to myself: repetitive and melodic. But as always, given it was closing in on 3am and I had a few beers by my side, this quickly changed and turned into a set that i’d play, or at least want to hear if I was stood surrounded by hundreds of people in the desert with the sun slowly descending behind the dusty mountains [insert your moment of escapism here].

Was für ein fantastisches Wochenende! Gestern der Über-Chill mit jeder Menge Sonne, Bier, Vodka und absolut großartiger Musik (Mixe kommen die Tage nach) von tollen Menschen im Potsdamer Freiland. Heute Sonne, Musik, Grill, Liebe und wieder tolle Menschen. Und obwohl ihr Morgen alle frei habt, während ich den Kater der BaumblütenProletenbesucher pflegen gehe, geht es dann Abends gleich noch weiter. Erst auf dem Rhythm Against Fascism Festival mit den großartigen Maggies Farm, später dann wieder so eine Über-Chill Musike mit dem Kolegen Mogreens an irgendeinem See in der Stadt. Klar, es wird Sommer und ich kann ihn schon riechen.

Und solange dieses Gefühl ob des Wetters in uns steckt, kann man sich hiermit locker den Soundtrack dazu machen. Rocksteady Chris mixt sich durch die Klassiker des Reggaes und des Skas. Für die Rude boys in der Sonne, der geilen Sau.
