“TEMPELA NATIONAL PARK PLAYS A CRUCIAL ROLE IN THE CONSERVATION AND REGENERATION OF THE WORLD’S BIODIVERSITY AND NATURAL HERITAGE. SOME OF LAST REMAINING MEMBERS OF THEIR SPECIES STILL LIVE IN OUR PROTECTED AREA, HOPEFUL THAT SOMEDAY THEY CAN BE RETURNED TO THEIR NATURAL HABITAT. IN ADDITION TO THIS CRITICAL FUNCTION, OUR GOAL IS TO HELP OUR VISITORS EXPERIENCE THE PROFOUND FRAGILITY OF LIFE AND CONFRONT HUMANITIES ROLE IN ITS DESTRUCTION. SO BE AMAZED, MOVED AND MESMERIZED, BUT ALSO LEARN, CHANGE AND ACT FOR THE SALVATION OF THESE CRITICALLY ENDANGERED SPECIES AND THE ENTIRE PLANET.”

Rainer Schimpf, 51, has worked as a dive tour operator in South Africa for over 15 years. But in February, he experienced something very rare – the inside of a whale’s mouth. In perfect sea conditions, Rainer and his team set off to document a sardine run – a natural event where gannets, penguins, seals, dolphins, whales and sharks work together to gather the fish into bait balls. Rainer and his colleagues film the expedition for educational and environmental purposes.Split into two groups, Rainer led his team into the ocean, about 25 nautical miles from shore. But it was when the sea suddenly churned up that the team knew something strange was happening.

Pommes-Dieb

I have two nerite snails named Randolph and Mortimer (yes, after the Dukes in Trading Places). They are sisters who have lived with me for over a year. Up until this point, I had offered them a few types of food that they were not interested in, but one day I offered this baby carrot to them and shortly after, found Randolph doing what you see in this video. I left the carrot in for about a week, during which time Randolph and Mortimer ate the whole thing. In this video, I don’t think she’s eating it, but simply playing. I have other videos of her eating where you can clearly see her moving her head and engaged in the activity of eating. This is just her having fun.
