Das von mir hochgeschätzte superdufte Label Chillhop Records hat gerade seine Früjahrscompilation auf Bandcamp geschoben und die ist wie immer exorbitant dopebeatlastig, was hier ganz wunderbar in den Sonnenschein past. Und überhaupt: der Winter ist endgültig vorbei. Zu haben zum Name your Price-Download bei Bandcamp.

Nico aka Oakin hat sich an seine Gerätschaften gesetzt, deepe Bassgeschwader mit Beats und viel Atmosphäre vereint und haut alles zusammen als 2-Track-EP für lau raus. Zwei wundervolle Bass-Tracks, die ich mir gleich mal in meine kommenden Playlists packe. Gerne mehr davon!

Das litauische Label Cold Tear Records feiert aktuell Geburtstag. Den siebenten um genau zu sein. In diesem Zuge hauen sie eine Compi auf Bandcamp raus, die irgendwo zwischen Dub, Dubtechno und der dafür immer noch glorreichen 00er Jahren hin und her wabert. Hier im Stream. Das fantastische Ambient- und Modern-Classic-Label Erased Tapes feiert aktuell zehnjähriges Jubiläum und haut aus diesem Anlass eine ihrer immer großartigen Compilations raus. Erased Tapes Collection VIII.

Mit dabei unter anderem: Penguin Cafe, Ben Lukas Boysen, Nils Frahm, Woodkid. Alles zusammen zum „Name-your-price“-Download, der mir immer auch Geld wert ist. So viel Liebe!

Commencing the 10th anniversary celebrations with a free compilation entitled Erased Tapes Collection VIII, Erased Tapes also welcomes the iconic Penguin Cafe to the roster amongst tracks from new signing Daniel Brandt (of Brandt Brauer Frick) and Peter Broderick’s duo project Allred & Broderick. It also includes recent compositions by Rival Consoles, A Winged Victory For The Sullen, Ben Lukas Boysen, Douglas Dare and Immix Ensemble & Vessel, as well as a previously unreleased Ryan Davis remix of Erased Tapes stalwarts Ólafur Arnalds & Nils Frahm which was recently favoured by Aphex Twin and an exclusive edit of Woodkid & Nils Frahm’s score for JR’s Ellis, with spoken words by Robert De Niro.

Für mich ist Chillhop Records die Entdeckung des Jahres. Ich mag den Sound so sehr, dass ich mir neulich den kompletten Backkatalog zugelegt habe. Kein Downbeat-Set kommt seitdem ohne Releases des Labels aus. Ich warte schon ein paar Tage auf die Winter Essentials und soeben kam die Mail von Bandcamp. Hier sind sie. 17 Dopebeat-Tracks mit jeder Menge Piano und immer einer Spur von Jazz. Geiles Zeug zum pay-what-you-want-Download.
