Seasoned Projections hat eine wunderbar hyperrealistische Ghostbusters-Lichtshow mit Mappings auf ein Wohnhaus gebastelt, die Charaktere, Szenen und Zitate aus dem Originalfilm zeigt. Die Show, die auf ihr Zuhause in Südkalifornien projiziert wurde, wurde speziell für Halloween 2021 gemacht und ist schon ganz schön geil anzuschauen.

I mapped (drew) my house lines at a specific angle viewing the house. The mapping looks best when facing the house looking straight on of the main garage or at an angle facing where the entry archway and small garage meet. This gives you the full mapping (including the small garage) at a glance and looks great.

Ich liebe das Netz ja auch dafür, dass sich Leute um die wirklich wichtigen Fragen kümmern und Antworten darauf zu finden versuchen. Wie zum Beispiel diese, wie viele Marshmallows man aus dem Marshmallow Man der Ghostbusters machen könnte. Und dann rechnen die das höchstseriös aus, na klar.
Das ist alles höchstkompliziert, weshalb ich darauf verzichtet habe, selber zu versuchen, das zu berechnen. Aber dafür gibt es da draußen ja Profis. Und ehrlich, ich verstehe auch nur 2/4 davon, aber es ist halt auch nicht mein Job, das zu tun. Kurz: Man könnte aus dem Marshmallow Man der Ghostbusters 300 Millionen Marshmallows machen. Wow.
Once Hind gridded-up Stay Puft, he made estimations for each part. For example, the hat is about three feet high, with a radius of 10 feet, making it 942.3 cubic feet. As for the head, Hind estimated it was 20 feet high, with a radius of 14 feet, making it 12,312.7 cubic feet. From there, you kinda get the idea, but the unique shape of the torso involved a bit more work. „For the torso,“ Hind says, „I used an approach based on the volume of a solid of revolution to plot the slight S shaped curve of his side and rotate it.“
I’ve read that sentence 20 times and I still don’t understand it, but he did include more visuals, which I sorta understand.
All told, Hind concluded that the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man has a volume of 151,960.2 cubic feet, but we reasoned that his pupils, mouth, neckerchief and certain parts of his hat aren’t made of marshmallow, so once those are removed, the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man is 151,772.2 cubic feet of actual marshmallow.

Ich habe hier ja innerfamiliär hin und wieder Kino-Dates, die ich mal mehr, mal weniger motiviert annehme. Nach diesem Ghostbusters Trailer für „AFterlife“ bin dann wohl ich endlich mal wieder der Filmbestimmer. Lieb einfach alles daran.

Trailer zum im nächsten Jahr in die Kinos kommenden Ghostbusters – Afterlife. Da werden sicher wieder einige was zu meckern haben, aber ich finde, das sieht ganz geil aus.

Die Garn-Künstlerin Stephanie Pokorny hat in diesem Jahr ein Slimer-Kostüm für ihren Sohnemann gehäkelt, das im Dunkeln leuchtet. Und ich würde das so auch in meiner Größe anziehen.
