Ich war nie wirklich dicke mit Depeche Mode. Nicht, dass ich sie damals nicht mochte – schlimmer noch: sie waren mir immer total egal. Und dennoch bin ich nie gänzlich um sie herumgekommen. Immer hörte irgendwer Demo. Immer. Ich glaube, das ist bis heute so geblieben.
Was ich allerdings wirklich interessant finde, ist der Umstand, dass Martin Gore, Mitbegründer und bis heute Teil der Band, für den 28. April ein Solo Album angekündigt hat, welches auf Mute erscheinen wird. Es wird rein instrumental und seine Definition von zurückhaltender Elektronik mit sich bringen. Die erste Nummer klingt schon mal so, als das mir das wirklich sehr gut schmecken könnte.
Martin Gore will release a self-titled solo album under the name MG on April 28 via Mute. MG is a 16-track instrumental LP, and it was recorded at his home studio in Santa Barbara.
“I wanted to keep the music very electronic, very filmic, and give it an almost sci-fi like quality,” he said in a press release. “Music is a necessity for me. I go into the studio at least five days a week, every week, so once I had the idea and the template, the process was quick and fun.”
