Pure Entschleunigung, dieses zweistündige Video des Filmemachers Richard Sidey, der uns dafür auf eine Tour über die Antarktische Halbinsel mitnimmt. In 4K und zu ambienten Sounds.

Ambient Antarctica is filmed around the Antarctic Peninsula and features captivating aerial and ground-based imagery of mountains, glaciers, icebergs, humpback whales, penguins and seals.

Time-Lapse: Wie Würmer aus Abfällen in 100 Tagen Kompost machen

Eher so eine Sache, die eigentlich eher im Verborgenen passiert und für uns im Regelfall nicht sichtbar ist. Hier hat wer den Prozess mal veranschaulicht und Würmer sind offenbar echte Fleißarbeiter. Kompostiert werden Laub, Papier und Pappe.

Each chamber was filled with a different type of bedding material: Chamber #1 had leaves, #2 had cardboard, and #3 had paper. Then in went the red wiggler composting worms. Periodically water and grit (pulverized eggshell) were added. Also, as needed, additional material was loaded in when the levels dropped low.

Wie sich die Tiere um Tschernobyl ihr eigentlich natürliches Habitat zurückholen

Lange Doku, die ihren Fokus auf all die Tiere legt, die sich in den letzten 30+ Jahren ihre eigentlich natürlichen Lebensräume um und in Tschernobyl zurück erobern.

This is Chernobyl, deserted by people after the worst nuclear disaster in history and now reclaimed by a remarkable collection of wildlife and the descendents of pets that were left in the city when the people went away.
This film unmasks the surprising faces of the new inhabitants. In houses where people once lived and laughed, unexpected wildlife is making itself at home. The adventures of a likeable cast of non-human characters give viewers a rare glimpse into an alternative world. Here wild animals face challenges in an environment totally outside their experience, while once-domestic species must rediscover their wild natures within.

Where is this place of abandonment and sanctuary? The location is well known and draws a cloud of uncertainty over the future for these animal characters.

Von oben: Zug fährt durch einen pinken Salzsee

Vor zwei Jahren hatte ich hier Drohnenaufnahmen, die die leuchtenden Farben des Great Salt Lake in Utah zeigten. Dieses Farbphänomen von Salzseen gibt es offenbar öfter. So kann man dieses in Australien beobachten und eben auch am Burlinskoye Ozero in Russland. Ein See, der sich jedes Jahr aufs Neue rosafarbend einfärbt. Durch den Burlinskoye fährt zudem regelmäßig ein Güterzug und Vadim Makhorov hat das mal mit einer Drohne festgehalten.

Ein Jahr auf einem Biberdamm

Dieses Video zeigt schön anschaulich was da draußen so los ist und nichts mit Menschen zu tun hat. Ein Stelldichein der Tierwelt an einem Biberdamm im Voyageurs-Nationalpark in Minnesota.

This video is a compilation of the wildlife that crossed a beaver dam just south of Voyageurs National Park from March 2019-April 2020.

This video was literally a year in the making! Beaver dams can be wildlife highways in boreal environments like the Greater Voyageurs Ecosystem, allowing all sorts of wildlife to easily cross wetland habitats which might be otherwise difficult to get across.

While the wildlife is undoubtedly neat, we particularly enjoyed watching the changing of the seasons on this beaver dam! It summarizes life in the Northwoods: cold snowy winters and hot, humid summers with lots of vegetation!
