Vor ein paar Tagen ist Sturm Gerrit mit bis zu 85 Meilen pro Stunde über Schottland hinweg gefegt. In Ayrshire hat er dabei eine 3 Millionen Pfund teure Windkraftanlage regelrecht rasiert. Das war wohl ein bisschen viel Wind für die Anlage.

Golden Gathering in Schottland.
Hundreds of golden retrievers, and their owners, have gathered at the Highland ancestral home of the breed.
The first golden retriever puppies were born at Guisachan House in Glen Affric 155 years ago.
They were bred by aristocrat Sir Dudley Marjoribanks, who wanted a gun dog suited to Scottish Highland terrain.
Owners from across the UK, continental Europe, North America, Australia and Japan have been meeting at the ruins of Guisachan House.

Mackintosh was a revolutionary designer, but the materials and techniques at the cutting edge of architectural design in 1900 haven’t withstood a century of the west of Scotland’s harsh, wet weather conditions.
The external render of the property has not proved watertight and the walls have gradually become saturated and are crumbling, with water now threatening the interiors.
If we don’t act soon, the house will be irreparably damaged and we’ll lose its iconic architecture and unique interiors forever.

Der pseudo-politische Marktschreier Donald Trump war heute in Schottland zu Besuch. Das hat schon im Vorfeld für einige Unstimmigkeiten gesorgt, so das Nachbarn des Golfplatzes, den Trump heute besucht hat, demonstrativ mexikanische Staatsflaggen in ihren Gärten gehisst haben.
Aber das war nicht alles. Heute kam auf eben jenem Golfplatz der Comedian und Prankster Lee Nelson vorbei, um die dort geplante Rede von Trump zu stören. Dabei bewarf er den Präsidentschaftskandidaten mit Golfbällen, auf die Hakenkreuze gedruckt wurden.

Auch andere Schotten sind der Meinung, dass das mit Trump alles andere als Liebe ist.
Der hatte heute Morgen mal wieder alles zusammengeworfen. Brexit, Schottland, England, EU, whatever – und dabei nicht auf dem Schirm, dass Schottland selber ziemlich eindeutig gegen den Brexit gestimmt hatte, woraufhin ihn wiederum Lily Allen per Tweet hinwies.
