Der Herkuleskäfer gilt als größter Käfer der Welt und lebt in Süd- und Mittelamerika. Ich weiß nicht, ob ich den eher anmutig oder doch eher als nicht ganz so schön empfinden soll. Dieses Zeitraffer, das die Metamorphose von der Raupe bis zum Käfer zeigt, stellt zumindest die Frage in den Raum, ob es nicht doch Aliens auf der Erde gibt.

Ein wirklich rasant geschnittenes Time Lapse von FilmSpektakel, das den ersten Eindrücken, die diese pulsierende Metropole hinterlässt, vielleicht perfekt widerzuspiegeln weiß. Ziemlich genau so habe ich meine ersten drei Stunden in dieser Stadt wahrgenommen. Wie ein Wespennest, das nie zur Ruhe kommt. Dennoch oder vielleicht gerade deswegen würde ich gerne mal wieder hinwollen.

In September 2016 we visited this awesome city to try out some new time lapse stuff.
It took us 10 days, a lot of burgers and one helicopter ride to produce this video. 10 days is very little time to discover this city of endless opportunities, so we hardly slept anything and shot day and night for this time lapse film. The city that never sleeps indeed!
Der Schweizer Sales Wick ist nicht nur Pilot sondern nebenbei auch noch Fotograf. So hat er das Glück seine Kamera im Cockpit eines Flieger positionieren und beeindruckende Aufnahmen wie diese machen zu können.
Dabei sind die leuchtenden Städte von unten nicht mal das Schönste. Zumindest nicht im Vergleich zu dem, was da am Himmel passiert. Die Milchstraße leuchtet und wirft Sternschnuppen durch die Gegend.
The latter is the case for my todays flight across the Atlantic Ocean to South America. Our flight is packed and some 340 passengers are settling in for a long night flight. Its my turn to be at the flightdeck for the first part of the journey, as my other co-pilot gets the chance to rest in the crew bunk above the passenger cabin. We are heading our westbound, along the clearly visible Alps to our left. Just before reaching Geneva and the western tip of Switzerland we are making a shallow left turn to join the Rhone valley leading us to Marseille and onward onto the Mediterranean Sea. Our routing will bring us towards Algeria and on across the northwestern part of the vast Sahara. We will be flying past Dakar in Senegal where we will be heading out onto the Atlantic Ocean. Our south-westerly course will get us across the wide blue – in fact it was pitch-black during the night – to the north eastern shore of Brazil. Landfall is expected just north of Rio de Janeiro and the remaining few hundred miles will get us straight towards Sao Paolo. Our landing is expected around 6am local time, still before the sun will rise.

Infrarot-Fotografie ist immer wieder spannend und eröffnet einem bei genauem Hinsehen neue Perspektiven. Time Lapse Videos sind schon länger durch, aber ein Infrarot-Time Lapse Video habe ich bisher so nicht gesehen – und finde das ganz geil.

Für alle, die bisher nicht die Zeit hatten, die wieder episch fotografierte zweite Ausgabe von BBC Ones Planet Earth sehen zu können, hier mal wieder ein Ausschnitt aus der selbigen. Ich werde das nachholen. Zwischen Weihnachten und Neujahr. Erst alle bis dahin neuen Walking Dead Folgen und dann all das, was bis dahin von Planet Earth II zu sehen war. Bis dahin halte ich mich solchen Snippets über Wasser – und die sind schon mehr als großartig. Heute: Pilzkulturen wachsen im Zeitraffer; perfekt ausgeleuchtet.

Dirk Nienaber hat in Perth, Australien, eine Gruppe von Raupen dabei gefilmt, wie diese der Länge nach eine Straße überquert haben. Da hat alles seine Ordnung, da tanzt keine aus der Reihe. Fast so wie in der Schlange von Netzlers Getränkestützpunkt am Bahnhof Teltow zum Ende der 80er. Aber das ist eine andere Geschichte.
