Ein KommentarIn Queensland, Australien, haben sie neulich einen Python gefangen, der von nicht weniger als 511 Zecken befallen war. Ich habe es ja nicht so mit Schlangen, noch weniger aber habe ich es mit Zecken. Beides zusammen ist so richtig nope.
Der Python, den sie Nike getauft haben, wurde zur Currumbin Wildlife Hospital Foundation gebracht, wo sie ihn von den Blutsaugern befreit haben. Seit dem 12. Januar ist Nike offiziell zeckenfrei, fühlt sich allerdings ob Blutmangels immer noch nicht ganz wohl.

Harrison brought the snake to Currumbin Wildlife Hospital Foundation in Queensland, where 511 ticks were removed from the python’s body. The snake, dubbed Nike, was finally pronounced tick-free on Jan. 12, but was still „very unwell“ with anemia, hospital representatives wrote on Facebook.
Before his visit to the hospital, Nike was in a bad way. Clusters of ticks studded the python’s head and body; some were small and flattened, while others were swollen and bloated with blood. It was a parasitic infestation the likes of which Harrison had never seen in 26 years of snake catching, according to the Facebook post.
And you thought one tick was bad? Look at this poor carpet python from coolangatta! We arent sure how many ticks are on…

Einen Kommentar hinterlassenIn der Nähe von Shanghai haben sie gerade ein Hotel in einen ehemaligen Steinbruch gebaut, das die Designer als „Groundscraper“ bezeichnen. Anders als gewohnt, haben sie dafür das Hotel nicht in die Höhe sondern in die Tiefe gebaut und somit das eigentlich verbrannte Stück Erde, das so ein aufgegebener Steinbruch hinterlässt, wiederbelebt. Dort zu buchen wird wahrscheinlich leider nichts für den kleinen Geldbeutel, aber geil ausschauen tut’s schon.

My wife called me and told me the news and I knew right away that was our dog. I left work right away. I saw the crew out in a cut bean field on the east side of the highway.“
Der Soundbastler Koka Nikoladze hat mal wieder eine Beat Machine gebaut, die optisch ein bisschen an einen Fluxkompensator erinnert. Und natürlich kommt da auf bei ihm immer sehr ungewöhnliche Weise erzeugter Sound raus. Dabei sieht das alles dann auch noch verdammt gut aus.
