Das hier ist der Beitrag von George Fox zum “How Do You JUNO?” YouTube™ Video Contest, der von RolandUS als virale Kampagne für Roland gebastelt wurde, was aber egal ist, denn das Video ist ein echter Knüller. Gerade wenn man auf dem Schirm hat, dass die Sound für diese Nummer hier einzig aus einem analogen Juno-60 kommen, der natürlich auch optisch nicht zu kurz kommt.

Das nenn‘ ich mal innovativ. Charles Pyott hat einen Plattenspieler entwickelt, der nicht größer ist als der allseits geliebte Kamm in der Arschtasche. Bei soviel Engagement für das Vinyl als solches will ich mal darüber hinwegsehen, dass das Ding nur für 7″ Inches taugt und überhaupt etwas unpraktisch erscheint.
This was a quick project I did to create a sma portable record player for the casual vinyl crowd. The main innovation is a space saving design that „clamps“ the record into place instead of using the traditional platter layout. The inspiration for the design was to use flowing lines that gave the impression of passing through the record with bright colors to underscore a fun product that was not made for theDJ or Audiophile.

Ein KommentarFlickr-Album, was ausschließlich Poster zum Thema Solidarität zeigt und grafisch ziemlich interessant ist, wie ich finde. Vornehmlich sind die Plakate aus den sozialistischen Epochen verschiedener Länder oder zumindest was man dafür gehalten hatte.
Ein KommentarAuf der Seite von Carsten Nicolai ist vermerkt, dass dieses Werk aus dem Jahre 1998 stammt, die große blöde Zeitung, die etwas dazu hat, was ich nicht linken werde, meint, es sei aus dem Jahre 1992.
Das Bild strahlt eine kühle und anmutige Schönheit aus, die mich ziemlich anmacht, irgendwie. Allerdings kann man nichts hören, soweit ich das richtig verstanden habe. Die Arbeit ist Teil der „60 Jahre. 60 Werke“ Kunst-Aktion.
Four Technics SL-1210 turntables are integrated into a table. On each of these turntables rests a specially produced vinyl record with 12 endless grooves each of which provides the visitor with the opportunity to play several sound-loops endlessly. The table functions as the instrument that permits the viewer to layer and superimpose the sound-loops and to create permanently new combinations. The field of interaction is further expanded by the option to substitute the record, to vary its pace and to have it rotate eccentrically through alternating holes. Headphones on top of the table invite the visitor to attentively follow the emergence of the sound surface. When leaving the installation a sound system installed at the exit emits the manually selected combination of sound-loops. Re-confronted with the sound surface, the visitor now recognizes the methods and means of its creation.
