Mix: Dubstrates & Dreamstates

Ambient dub is one of my favorite sub-genres. I’ve done several „dubby & dreamy“ mixes over the years. I have found that these ambient dub mixes work well as stargazing companions. So the timing for this one is good as the Perseid meteor shower is at it’s peak. This mix follows that same dubby/dreamy mode that I love.

My late grandpa bought it for his exotic car rental business in 1989, but after insurance costs became too high for him to operate the company, he kept the car (and many others including the Ferrari 308 in front of the Lambo) outside/in leaky garages for 20+ years instead of selling them. Don’t ask me why, I have no clue.

Jetzt hat er zwei neue alte Gebrauchtwagen.

Eine liegende Sanduhr: Ripple of Time

Within a spacetime continuum, time is perceived as the fourth dimension. The past the present and the future is a whole. Ripples of Time, allow natural materials to be shaped by time, reminding us of its presence. The installation consists of two complimentary clocks; Sand and Water. Sand, inspired by Zen Gardens, is the gradual formation and flattening of a ripple pattern over a period of twelve hour cycles. Water, on the other hand, tells the ephemeral time through concentric circles in the form of endless waves that ripple by the second. It is the landscapes and the cycles found in nature, that both the projects represents.
