In October of 2006, a small mom and pop record store in Southern New Jersey named Full Circle Records announced that it was going out of business and that the liquidation sale would continue until mid December. Ironically, at approximately the same time, Tower Records, the iconic juggernaut of the music retail market, made the same announcement. Something has happened to the music retail world and it seemed to have happened overnight. …Or did it? The Final Days Of Full Circle Records is a fascinating documentary that provides valuable insight into the rise and fall of the record store industry and subculture which may change the way you think about music, music retail, and the art of collecting music forever.

Jetzt stellen wir die Sache mal auf die Füße: Die Amerikaner entließen Leute aus dem Lager, die sie für unschuldig erklärt haben – nachdem sie sie gefoltert haben. Und dann kommt ein deutscher Innenminister und erklärt: Diese Opfer sind bedrohlich, ich möchte nichts mit ihnen zu tun haben. Das ist obszön.

Weil das antimuslimische Ressentiment flächendeckend geworden ist. Ein Gewürzhändler war am falschen Tag am falschen Ort, wird von den Taliban angeschossen und dann von Kopfgeldjägern nach Guantánamo verschleppt – aber niemand gesteht ihm Unschuld zu. Da muss man von Propaganda sprechen. Es tut mir Leid, ich würde gerne mit etwas weniger Emotion über diese Sache reden, aber solches Ressentiment auch hierzulande arbeitet daran mit, dass so etwas wie Guantánamo möglich ist. Die Tatsache, dass das Lager bis heute besteht, zeigt, dass Politik und Öffentlichkeit nicht genug getan haben.

Video: Stakker / Aphex Twin – Westworld

In neun Parts, leider. Dennoch sehens,- vor allem aber verdammt höhrenswert. Von 1997.

Stakker (Westworld) was an experimental video published by the seminal IDM electronic music label Warp Records and made in the mid-1990s by Stakker, the pairing of video artists Mark McClean and Colin Scott who later collaborated with Brian Dougans of The Future Sound of London and Humanoid on the release Stakker Humanoid.

Ich dachte sowas gäbe es nur im Fernsehen: Menschen die „Seggs“ sagen, obwohl sie „Sex“ meinen. Fehlanzeige, die gibt es wirklich!

Mal nebenbei: Yagyas – Rigning wurde heute endlich auf Sending Orbs veröffentlicht und hat eine eigene Micro-Site, auf der man wunderbar vorhören kann. Bestellen kann man als LP oder CD-Variante dort auch gleich und die die MP3’s und FLAC’s gibt es ab Morgen auf E-Orbs.
