The device, part of an artwork Paeng has called „Phono Sapiens“, opens its translucent eyelid whenever it senses the user’s head has been lowered to look at a smartphone. When the user comes within one to two metres of an obstacle, the device beeps to warn of the impending danger.

Paeng’s invention uses a gyro sensor to measure the oblique angle of the user’s neck and an ultrasonic sensor to calculate the distance between the robotic eye and any obstacles. Both sensors are linked to an open-source single-board microcontroller, with battery pack.

Paeng’s demonstration of the device in Seoul this week garnered attention from passersby.

Laut rbb24 wurde in Berlin während der Pandemie deutlich mehr gekokst als ohnehin schon.

Ließen sich 2017 noch 300 Milligramm auf 1.000 Personen pro Tag nachweisen, waren es 2021 doppelt so viele. In eine durchschnittliche Dosis Kokain umgerechnet waren es 2017 zehn, 2021 schon zwanzig Dosen auf 1.000 Einwohner. Der Projektleiter für Siedlungshydrologie, Björn Helm sagte, die Entwicklung zeige „trotz Corona eine fortgesetzte Steigerung“.

Ich will nicht nach Berlin.

Aus der Kategorie „andere Instrumente“ heute: Omnichord, so etwas wie eine elektronische Harfe, die in den 1980ern von der Suzuki Musical Instrument Corporation auf den Markt gebracht wurde und unter anderem von Brian Eno, David Bowie oder Cindy Lauper gespielt wurde. Simoneister spielt darauf ein Chill Jam.

The Omnichord is an electronic musical instrument introduced in 1981 by the Suzuki Musical Instrument Corporation.[1] It typically features a touch plate known as “SonicStrings”, preset rhythms, auto-bass line functionality, and buttons for major, minor, and 7th chords. The most basic method of playing the instrument is to press the chord buttons and swipe the SonicStrings with a finger in imitation of strumming a stringed instrument. The SonicStrings may also be touched in one place to create a single note. Originally designed as an electronic Autoharp, the Omnichord has become popular, due to its unique, chiming, harplike timbre and its value as a kitsch object.
